'Housewives' scoop: Julie's coming home

Andrea-Bowen_l Wisteria Lane is welcoming back one of its own this fall: Original Desperate Housewives star Andrea Bowen has signed on to reprise her role as Susan’s eldest spawn, Julie.

Although ABC would only confirm that Bowen is set to appear in the Sept. 27 season premiere, a Housewives insider tells me that the actress is returning as a series regular.

Bowen vanished from Housewives at the end of season 4, a casualty of the show’s four-year flash forward. She briefly returned last season when Julie, on break from college, announced that she was dating her 40-year-old professor Lloyd (Steven Weber). It’s not clear if he’ll be accompanying her back home, but I’m guessing not.

    I can just hear the Julie/Susan scenes now… “I love Mike so much and even though he’s (married to Katherine or my husband) I can’t help but thinking something’s between us. Oh, could you check on MJ upstairs, please?”

    I predict that when Julie asks Susan: “Where’s Edie?”, Susan replies: “With the Pharaohs.”.

    People … let’s not be ridiculous. Mike has a son with Julie’s MOTHER, Susan. It is not her under the veil. I liked Julie’s character. Welcome back, Andrea. She did great guest work last season on “Ghost Whisperer,” btw.

    I hope they can use Julie as much as they did when she was friends with Zach and Dylan and took part in story lines ….otherwise it seemed like a waste of Andreas Bowens time. They should bring Zach back….after all he hasn’t met his brother MJ yet.
