Aw, shoot! Blind item hints at gunshot victim

Tags: , News

Ausielloblinditem_lHey, I’ve been meaning to ask: How’s your vision? Yeah? Well, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of this story, because — that’s right! — it’s a blind item. Shades on? Thinking caps tilted at a jaunty angle? Great — here we go…

In the next three months, a hit cable series’ lead — a character I think we’d all agree could be described as an anti-hero/ine — is going to be shot. In the chest. Repeatedly. By a relative! Out of nowhere!

I know, right? Wait, there’s more…

When the episode, which may or may not be the season finale, ends, our victim’s prognosis, natch, will remain up in the air.

So who’s the soon-to-be-barely-moving target? I’ll give you a hint: The show he or she is on is either Nurse Jackie or Burn Notice. Or Rescue Me or Mad Men. Or True Blood or Weeds. Or Entourage or The Closer. (I didn’t say I was gonna give you a big hint.)

Hit me with your best shot below, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll rule out at least a few of those series in this week’s Ask Ausiello. Ready… aim… fire away!

This has to ba Sookie being shot by her brother on True Blood!

    • TJ

Nah. That can’t be it, she’s the main character, so it would effectively end the series, plus Jason loves Sookie too much.

      • Greg

I was thinking True Blood because whoever it is (could be Jason or Sookie) can be healed by vampire blood. So, maybe for that reason it isn’t True Blood. It’s not Nurse Jackie, since the season’s over.

  • David

I was thinking Dexter but it’s not listed.

  • Rowan

Either Sookie on True Blood – shot by Jason, or on Weeds it’s Nancy, shot by Andy (faked with squibs) so she seems dead and is free of the Mexican Mob?

  • Erin

I don’t think it’s Sookie, because I don’t think you’d call her an anti-heroine. My money is on Don Draper being shot by either a Whitman relative or a member of Betty’s family who finds out his secret.

  • Joe

It’s Fiona on Burn Notice and they showed it in the preview for next week

It’s so dennis leary/rescue me. although, i don’t know what family he has left.
he said on the view or something he wants to kill tommy.

  • Erin

I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was Tommy on Rescue Me or Nancy on Weeds.

pretty sure it’s no one on burn notice. recent ads show the next ep with fiona getting shot (once at least) in the chestal area (tho it looks like she has a vest under her shirt). And i doubt ausiello would post anything that obvious.

Can it be a “Not-So-Dead” Ruby taking revenge on Sam and Dean? Or a possessed Winchester Brother shooting the other on the behalf of Lucifer?

  • Beth

Nurse Jackie’s oldest kid is supposed to be troubled…

  • Kyle

For sure not Entourage! I don’t see it going anywhere near that route!

  • TxGowan

I’d have said In Plain Sight, but it’s not listed, so I’m gonna have to go with Rescue Me.

  • Oddzuki

I instantly thought of Denis Leary on Rescue Me… But then quickly changed to Nancy on Weeds… but couldn’t see why either of her kids or Andy would…

  • Darklighter

It’s Fiona on burn notice. . . the commercials are already showing her taking a bullet in the chest. . .

  • Jon

Anti-hero? That’d be Denis Leary’s character on Rescue Me.
