Comic-Con video: 'Bones' romance spoilers

Tags: , , News

Bones creator Hart Hanson can sub for David Boreanaz anytime he wants. With his star stuck in L.A. waiting for his very pregnant wife to give birth, Hanson was more than happy to join leading lady Emily Deschanel for a previously-scheduled interview at Comic-Con with yours truly. And believe me, I was happy to have him. After all, who better to weigh in on the backlash from last May’s season finale, the rumored kiss in the season premiere, and the future of Booth and Brennan as a couple than the big boss himself? The slightly spoilery interview is after the jump…

I’m a loyal viewer. I’d watch this show if it was on at 6AM and they were trying to figure our who murdered Hodgin’s fish but I did NOT love the season finale. The inside jokes were fun, but you can’t promise us the one thing we want and not give it to us.
Also for the record. Most viewers don’t know what they want… the show is better with Booth and Brennan not hooking up. But don’t lie to us, it’s really not that much to ask.

  • Chris

Gotta disagree with Hart that the “loyal” viewers liked it. I’ve been one of those, watching since the beginning, and I watch re-runs every day now on TNT, and I absolutely hated that finale. Kind of a copout on his part.

The season Finale was really bad. Not because of the Booth and Brennan thing , but because ending the season the on a silly alternate reality thing and not answering questions.
-what happened to Hodgins and Billy Gibbons and how did he end up in the desert with Angelas tattoo?
-Whats Booths prognosis ( and who thought it was a good idea for him not to remember?
The whole season 4 was on a down hill slide writing wise as they spoiled a opportunity with Gormagon ( who turns out to be no one you care about that was shown in one scene) and the Gravedigger ( again no one you care about shown in one episode).
They can do better than this, its a great show.

Excuse me? I’m a loyal viewer and I hated the season finale.

Also forgot to add that they just left hanging with no mention
-The fact that Brennan said she finally came to a conclusion the intern ( my vote is for Clark –funny guy)
    -Zack ?
The only character I have been enjoying on the show lately is Sweets.

i … really really liked the finale. :)
i watched since the beginning, re-watched it a lot. i already know the story with producers to … well, mislead us. i have nothing against that, i’ve seen a lot of it. and we seriously DON’T know what’s best for us smtimes. i think he’ll do great job with continuation. and it’s only fifth season, they can’t be together yet. :P they are, after all, mulder and scully. ;)

yeah! i liked the finale too! i don’t know what everyone’s problem is…

  • Adam

Yeah…I heard most fans hated the Finale. Almost House-esque with the fake-out.

I liked the season finale. No complaints from me. Looking forward to the new season.

I’m a “loyal” viewer, Hart, since the pilot, and I disliked the finale more than any hour of television I watched last season. I felt I wasted an hour watching silly characters who weren’t the Bones characters in a silly story that had nothing to do with the Bones series. It might have been fun for the actors and the writers, but it was indulgent and a waste of your viewers’ time.

I’m sorry, I’m a loyal viwer..and the first time i watched the episode i TOTALLY hated it!! i’ve watched it several times after…and I kind of like it now…any way…I don’t think it was the right episode for the finale…people were expecting too much…(me included)

I’ve been a loyal viewer from the beginning and I despised the end. These “gotcha” endings are just jump-the-shark moments. As for the “don’t know what’s best for us”? Seriously, that’s some kind of arrogance.

  • sarah

exactly, hart couldnt have said it any better. LOYAL FANS!!!!
and the season finale, yes, was a shocker , but some of tv still needs to be a suprise. knowing what your getting from every episode everytime, really just spoils the show for you.
    – thank you hart ,emily and david!! –

I recently became obsessed with bones. Thank god for the reruns on TV! After watching the 4 seasons, including the ending I actually thought that the ending suited b&b overall. Bones and Booth would not have really taken the big leap to be together in bed so fast, so I’m glad Hart Hanson provided another “alternate reality” (as Emily said) for what could happen down the road.
It’s like a glimpse of what the future holds for Bones and Booth because obviously they are going to end up together but when is the question. And I think if we are truly loyal fans, we can wait a little bit more and just watch the love between b&b flourish. Also, I just LOVE BONES & cannot wait for season 5!!
