Since when is tuna a vegetable? PETA will be so disappointed.
This will be the last season, because nobody watches a tv show to become depressed. Watching a main character be at fault for everything, in a dark show, in which everyone is depressed leads the audience to be depressed. Brian Peterson = fail. So this is the last season as auds continue to tune out.
Smallville was supposed to be cancelled last season but ratings were higher than they were in years (Due to amazing episodes like Legion) which is why it was renewed for a 9th season, possible 10th and/or tv movie called Metropolis.
Smallville-hating is so 5 years ago. Its season 9 already! You all lost!
Go pick on heroes.
Iconic Fail. “A season long love triangle” with Clark, RBB & the worst incarnation of Lois Lane ever? Erica Durance & this concept gave Smallville a series record LOW ratings in “Stilleto” last season.
Die Smallville Die!
Last year was pretty good (minus the Lana bit of dreck), so I’m looking forward to this season. But for the love of Krypton, let him become Superman already! Oh, and let him realize Chloe is the girl for him.
LMAO @ the “season 8 ratings were higher than they’ve been for years”, when a simple fact-checking on any ratings site (or even a simple google search of “smallville +ratings”) shows that they were worse than ever, reaching several series-low in the second half of the season.
If you want to defend Smallville, fine, but at least check your facts beforehand.
Wow, I’m extremely excited to see Smallville’s take on the iconic triangle built for two. I adore Erica’s portrayal of Lois. Plus I really loved the little glimmers we got of that Clark/Lois/RBB dynamic last year, and I can’t wait to see it in full force.
Not too keen on more darkness, though. Hopefully “Clark’s darkest hour” won’t be totally angsty, and will have to do in part with the external battles he’ll be facing. Superman, after all, is supposed to be a hopeful character.
Man, Smallville fans are the whiniest bunch of bishes in the world. Every talkback on every website is a crybaby fest. Stop watching if it’s that bad to you. Expressing dislikes of elements of the show is one thing, but whining and low blows can stop.
Why would I want to stay in watching Clark and Chloe being depressed when I could go out and have fun? More over why would I continue to watch them drag Ollie and Clark down with making mistakes and women they have no chemistry with? I can’t even get excited about Michael Rosenbaum because the new show runners continually undermine the series and his contributions to them.
Really Brian? You think long time fans are going to watch this trash?
I was a HUGE Smallville fan, for years. But I can’t do this to my self anymore. I’m not going to keep watching this show for absolutely no pay off. Do you know what I watched yesterday? Obscura, fantastic episode from season one, before you started pandering to the mythos crowd.
I’m DONE.
See you September 25th.
Most of the beginning audience *has* stopped watching it. That’s part of the reason it was moved to Friday. As the “blame everything on Clark” trend continues, the rest of the audience will continue to “stop watching it” and ratings will plunge further.
Did I just read the phrase “pandering to the mythos crowd”? As in the same mythos this entire show is BASED upon. How ridiculous. Quit whining, we all knew how it was going to turn out.
They are in deep trouble moving to Friday nights for their last season.

1. DarkClark
2. Chloe with the Watchtower memorial to Chimmy
3. Lois front and center
Nope. Not interested. Three strikes and your out.
EPIC FAIL.
BTW: Is it Clark’s darkest hour because he’s falling in love with this horrible version of Lois?
Looks like BP is a man of his word and they are going mythos. Clark needs to fly this season — and if his darkest hour is to develop the RBB as a separate entity. Great. A better angle for the triange built for two.
