Turns out Beautiful Life exec producer Ashton Kutcher wasn’t being completely honest with us this morning when he said there were “no casting changes” on The CW’s new model-centric soap. Shortly after the panel concluded, a tipster sent me the following message via e-mail:
“No cast changes? Ha. The guy at the far right in the photo attached to your post will be gone by the end of episode 2.”
That “guy” is former As the World Turns star Jordan Woolley and, upon further investigation, multiple sources confirm that he will, in fact, be off the show by the end of the second episode.
I’m going to give Kutcher the benefit of the doubt and say he probably didn’t intentionally lie to us. I’m sure he was so worried about toeing the company line on Mischa Barton that he forgot Woolley had been cut. Or perhaps he never considered him a part of the cast because he wasn’t technically a series regular. Yeah, I’m sure it’s one of those.

I actually WILL give him the benefit of the doubt on this ‘oversight.’ Especially when I’m fairly certain that any attention being paid to “casting changes” was wholly because of Mischa Barton’s ‘personal situation’ .. and really SHE/HER CHARACTER is the current focus (not other characters/actors).
Torchwood did that. Suzy was in every cast photo and promo thing before the show began, and died in the pilot. She came back once after that. They did it so it would be a huge shock. Maybe that’s what is happening with Beautiful?

Actually, to “toe the line” means to conform to a rule/party line – in this case, to spout off the rhetoric the execs are spewing. Auseillo used the correct idiom for his meaning.

Wow… how lame is it to make a post about how lame something is. If “you” aren’t interested, don’t discourage him not to make the news. I care so you people can STFU and GTFO.
Anyway, I think this is really disappointing. Egan was the drug dealer in the pilot and I think he brought a lot of fire and scandal to the show. I think they’re knocking him off to make room for that Mason guy(played by Adam Betrand). I don’t understand all the hype behind this new kid on the block. I think the original formula for the show was just fine. Hopefully, Egan’s character gets a lot of hype and the writers decide to bring him back.
For this, I hate Mason’s character already.
