I like the idea of guest judges, but please don’t hire a permanent 4th judge. Kara is doing a great job and I think that things will go well without Paula.

What are you kidding me…who will Simon have to make fun of…ryan does not deserve 15 million a year…any monkey can run that show…I do not watch because of the host…AI must be hard up to pay Ryan that amount of money…Paula deserves more that Ryan…I hope she does go to SYTYCD

  • Ryan

I have never and will never watch American Idol because this is a glorified karaoke show. I would prefer to see up and coming singers actually work their asses off and earn a record deal.

That said this damned show isn’t going anywhere and this 4 judge format is annoying for people who don’t watch. There were a handful of episodes last year that ran over, causing Fringe to start late. Of course when it starts late my DVR doesn’t realize this and it caused me to miss the last 5+ minutes of that show a few times. Fox needs to at least respect viewers of it’s other programs enough to hold Idol to a ONE HOUR format.

  • Mike

Ridiculous. A monkey could do Ryan’s job, and they’re paying him $15 million a year. The ONLY reason to watch Idol is the interplay between Paula and Simon. Kara and Randy are wastes of space. And the contestants are variously talented wannabes. It’s all about Paula and Simon. I’m done.

a monkey… or maybe a cat, Cat Deely! Ok, that was stupid of me. But seriously, LOve HER! Much better than Ryan.

i think letting paula go is dumb as well. if anyonw should have went it’s randy. he is useless. for a paula replacement i say deborah gibson. a few years back they had talked about that. she is a writer and producer who worked her way up. she’s not as relevant now, but neither was paula. i like that idea.

  • Anthony

I have to say that as much as I make fun of Paula on AI I still love her and really hopes somehow, someway she will return. Why can’t they get rid of Kara (no offense Kara but Paula was here first) and give some of her pay to Paula to make up the difference that she wanted. I mean if you can give Ryan 45 million dollars for three years and Simon a billion dollars a year, why can’t Paula get the same. I know it sounds selfish and ridiculous because it’s an insane amount of money to make just to make some comments but we all know that is how the entertainment industry is and we all know that singer, actors, hosts, etc., all make way too much money but that’s the way it is and if I were Paula I would do the same thing and want a huge raise as well since everyone else got one. TEAM PAULA. But I will still watch AI but I will say this, if Simon ever leaves, I am done with the show. He does deserve every penny because he is the only honest judge on the show, Randy sucks and Kara has a problem with any girl who is pretty (remember Bikini Girl)- Kara had to prove she was a better singer than her but if your such a good singer I wonder why you never made it as a singer as you tried when you first came to LA and Paula let you stay with ther you- talk about ironic.

  • Anthony

Paula- I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose to do. I really wish you would make some good songs like you used to do- I don’t care what anyone says but she made some great songs back in the day and everyone knows they sang her songs…Personal favorites are “Rush Rush”, “Cold-Hearted Snake”, and I know everyone will hate me for saying this but I also like “Vibeology” because that is a great dance video and if your a dancer like me you can choreograph some great moves to that song. TO FOX AND PAULA- PLEASE COME BACK TO AMERICAN IDOL- IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU- LOVE YOU PAULA- YOUR ONE CRAZY B!TCH AND I LOVE IT!!!

  • Justin Hinnant

who cares everyone will have to get a life now instead of staying glued to the tv in january

  • Mrs C

Oh, poor Paula, $4 million a year…that’s $333,000/month….more than most people’s homes are worth…how unfair! People are struggling, working 7 days a week to bring home a couple thousand. Life must be rough for celebs.

  • Lynn

I am unhappy that the show is continuing the 4 judge format. It might be fine for the early audition period but when the show gets going for the top 12, I feel the fourth judge takes too much time away from the contestants. A lot of last season, the contestants sang less than in the past and it was due to the fourth judge! I missed hearing more from the singers and would have like less judge talk. 3 judges is enough!!

    • midge

You are spot on. We would like more singing please!

  • Carlos

I really am NOT happy about this whole 4th judge continuation thing. If there is one person I would like to see leave rather than Paula, it would be either Randy, Kara, or Ryan. All Randy just does during the auditions is nearly laugh at almost every contestant, or says the usual junk like “Dawg” or “For me, for you”. Its like he thinks the whole thing is one big joke! And don’t get me started on Kara. Ryan, is just soooo full of himself nowadays. I just wish they’d bring Dunkelman back just to shut Seacrest up for good. The only good judges were Simon and Paula. Now that Paula’s gone, Simon’s all by himself now, and hardly anybody on that show doesn’t even care about his opinion anymore, they just don’t listen to reason anymore! So, I’m kind of on the fence for Paula, at the same time, I’m glad she’s made the right choice for herself, but I’m sad that she’s gone now, because after she’s gone, “American Idol” will NEVER be the same again, and I mean that in a bad way.

  • Leah

OMG this is sooo funny. Katy Perry is my favorite female singer and Victoria Beckham is my favorite celeb! It is going to be weird with out Paula but this is VERY exciting! OH AND VICTORIA BECKHAM IS A GREAT SINGER AND KNOWS A LOT ABOUT SINGING ALONG WITH KATY PERRY!!

  • susan ralston

just as Idol is Simon…Idol is Paula too…Idol needs them both to keep it a winning show..Kara hurt an already amazing Idol , It was not necessary to change not nesessary ..Too bad ..Darnzee, I was such a huge fan…Shubert
