'Octomom' documentary: 'Viewers will react strongly,' says executive producer

Nadya-Suleman_lA Fox executive promises their just-announced documentary on Nadya Suleman, aka “Octomom”, will show “everything, literally day and night” from her life, including her much-publicized transition from “miracle birth lady” to “tabloid fodder.” The two-hour Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage will air on Aug. 19 at 8 p.m.

“It’s incredibly compelling,” Mike Darnell, Fox’s head of reality, told EW.com. “It will feel like you are inside her life.”

Executive produced by Craig Piligian (Dirty Jobs), the documentary will be culled together from seven months of previously unseen footage shot by Radar Online. The online company gained unprecedented access to Suleman and her children the day after the birth of the octuplets. The documentary is expected to show her financial struggles and the complications involved in parenting all 14 of her children on her own.

“The [camera crew] lived with her,” said Darnell. “They’ve been filming her since day one. Her mom is in it, so is her dad.” The exec adds that Fox “put aside a six-figure amount to benefit the kids.” (Suleman was compensated for the footage separately by Radar Online.)

Adds Piligian,“Viewers will react strongly. They’re going to have an opinion, one way or another. As a documentary, it gives you a straight forward approach to her life that’s compelling.”

The documentary is not associated with the reality show in the works from Eyeworks, a European company that made a deal with Suleman earlier this summer. Production on that show is expected to begin in a month. Darnell says there is enough footage from Radar Online to produce another documentary, but Fox has no plans to air a second one – for now.

Now that Hate Kate and Jon are off the air – something needs to take its place – YEAH FOX – what a way to completely piss off every last viewer you have on the face of the earth – family exploitation for the sake of fame, money and in her case -the inflated head case – a chance to beg and steal in the name of family – BARF – Viewers will react strongly – NO KIDDING – so what are you sniffing that makes you want to put this woman on the air – or are you looking to get fired from the network. BOYCOTT FOX, BOYCOTT FOX

    • sonny

I second that emotion, BOYCOTT FOX AND EVERY SPONSOR ADVERTISING ON THAT PROGRAM. The suits must be on drugs to green light the OCTOSCAMMER, and give her another “little opportunity”

  • Christie

This is disgusting. She deserves to rot, but she’s getting her own show, all the attention she wants.

  • Raj

P.S did you get counseling for the camera crew that had to live with the head case mom – you better make sure that they don’t get scarred for life because you made them live with her….. BOYCOTT FOX

  • Raj

    BOYCOTT FOX

Leave Octomom alone. . . better yet, she needs to leave us alone. Let her live in the make-believe world that she created for herself and let her think that someone really, actually loves her – b/c we don’t

  • Snarf

Ugh. Surprised this doesn’t somehow fit into the Apocolypse…wait, maybe it does.

  • Raj

It’s the end of FOX as we know it…. It;s the end of FOX as we know it… Everyone sing along….

  • Francina Colllins

I can not believe Fox is giving this woman air time, unbelivable, they have sunk to a new low!!!

  • wakeforce

FOX execs are a bunch of hypocrites. They put trash like this on the air and get to keep their conservative “family values”. Genius!

    • Siri

You’re saying you believe that at some point in time, Fox actually HAD “family values”? ROTFLMAO!

  • rose

do you think at this point anyone cares?

  • Richard

Mike Darnell…another Hollywood sleezball working for such a crappy network! I hope these affiliates wake up and just flat out refuse to air this nonsense!

  • lucas

excuse me, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. no make that a lot.
    tasteless, truly tasteless.
I honestly think that a serious boycott needs to happen. but not just of Fox (since only 25k folks count to the ratings it won’t do much good). nope. a massive campaign to any and all possible advertisers expressing an utter distaste that this family, particularly the children, are being exploited and if said company condones this by buying ad time during said docu and reality show they will lose a customer for life. if that words, it will hit where it counts

  • ICanHasSkankblingie

There could be no faster way for a sponsor to lose business than to be part of exploiting these kids on an overturned garbage can of a spectacle like this.

Somewhere on line there will be a list of sponsors for this show. And there will be outraged consumers who are civilized enough to put their money in the pockets of the sponsor’s competitors elsewhere from now on.
But it’s par for the course for Fox. It is impossible to underestimate how grotesque the Fox mentality has come to be.

  • sixx

Strongly? Is that what they call watching something else instead?

  • Cleo2u

WHY in the world would you give this moron more air time?!!
She’ll sink her own ark in time….but this just gives her what she wants, more time in front of the camera!
I’m sure they’ll explain where all the $$’s coming from and going to….NOT!!
Meanwhile they’re probably looking to see how a weekly show would go over!
PLEASE PLEASE leave this…thing… off the air!!
