    I loved YaYa on ANTM and look forward to seeing her on Ugly Betty this Fall. On ANTM I felt that she was proud of who she is and of the education she has, it is nothing to be ashamed of.

    I’m so happy for YaYa. Loved YaYa from the very start of ANTM Cycle 3. She should have won ANTM. Have any of you people ever actually encountered “The Pigford”??? Well, I have. I can tell you first hand, she’s the snobby little “B”. She sure had you all fooled. Eva hosted a Tech Fair for a bunch of underpriviledged teens in ATL. My niece absolutely idolized Eva on ANTM and asked if she could take a quick picture with her. You know what this “B” said? NO. Then had the nerve to tell her, “You can take a picture of me, but just not with me”. Like she’s someone on the celebrity “A” list or something. That’s okay, I said to my niece, god don’t like ugly. I can’t wait til Eva Pigford 15 minutes of fame are over. By the way, on TVONE’s Life After, she made her home life out to sound alot like the Cosby Show. Her parents have been married and together for 30 years. I think she made up that unhappy home life story to get sympathy from dumb smucks like some of you.

    I for one think Yaya will bring Ugly Betty a much-needed dose of RESPEITO!
    But they should make her character take a vow of silence so we never ever have to hear that whiny nasal voice.

    Nico Slater is only supposed to be 17 or 18 years old – Yaya is 26. this is ridiculous, the other actress was bad enough as she was 21 playing a 15/16 year old but she kind of looked young for her age anyway. As if they couldn’t have just gotten any 18-year old black girl, but no, it has to be someone who is well-known and therefore they compromise on important things like continuity.

    i love yaya and she should have won ANTM she was the best hands down and she is a really good actress she is doing such a great job on ugly betty i hate that ugly betty has to end it is one of my fav shows of all time

    I love the recast and I’ve watched all episodes with Yaya playing Nico Slater. On ANTM I didn’t think much of her but now I’ve changed my mind. I just love her preformance on UB!

    Yaya is an extremely beautiful, talented young woman, who’s proud of her background. Period. She oozed confidence, and totally deserved to win ANTM. Eva was blantantly rude and insensitive. Rumor had it that she eventually ditched Tyra’s management team after her win. Now, if that isn’t pathetic..
    Strong-willed, educated girls like Yaya are the role models we need.
