This just in: Roughly 2.8 million viewers caught last night’s third season premiere of Mad Men. That represents a 34 percent bump over the season 2 premiere (2.1 million) and stands as the show’s most-watched episode to date. This calls for a celebration. Happy hour starts now in Slezak’s office!

Woo hoo!
I would be happy if this show wasn’t another outlet for Hollywood to advertise it’s self-righteous, liberal agenda…
yeah, because you don’t sound self righteous at all. hahaha.
Yeah, the characters on Mad Men are SO liberal, it’s not even funny. [rolls eyes]
Yes, only that one single barrier to happiness ! Curse you Matt Weiner, if only I could defeat your show, the rest of Hollywood would fall like dominoes, and a golden age could begin !!!! Thanks for the laugh dude !
Because they accurately listed the tax rates for the 1960s?
Because generally speaking the attitudes expressed by the characters are darn near neaderthal in nature, so I can’t see the characters as particularly progressive so I assume you’re referring to the accurate description of tax rates in the 1960s.
Oh, yeah, Garrett? Well, One day, God’s gonna stand before you. And he’s gonna judge you and the rest of your damn cronies up on the Hill — and then you will get your just desserts.” Oops, sorry, wrong message board.
It’s is a contraction of it is… the possessive of it is its.
Zing! You just got grammar-ed!
I love me some don draper. I think people across the country are finally tuning into to see his hotness. swoon!
I’m so proud to say I was there from the beginning. It’s wonderful to see how anticipated this season premiere was! And I’m glad people are tuning in…
Long Live Mad Men!
Re Garrett, my first reaction was WTF?! My second reading of his post concluded he’s being facetious because no one in their right mind (pun NOT intended!) could possibly perceive that a show SO rooted in the post-Eisenhower Republican agenda is depicting liberal attitudes. Thanks for the laugh, Garrett!
See, network television? This is what happens when you don’t cancel a great show after only 3 episodes have aired due to low ratings. It takes time for an audience to build!
Ditto, Ray. I’m hesitant to watch anything new on network TV because of the quick “cancel” trigger finger.
I agree about hesitating to begin a series on network TV. The program several years ago with Geena Davis as Pres. is an example. Poor time slot. Poor advertising.
Mad Men and True Blood are the best shows on tv!!!!!!!!!!
agreed. i’m hooked on both.
The sad thing is, that on a network Mad Men would have to have 4 times the number of viewers that watched last night. And Mad Men is the best show on t.v.
I totally agree with Ray. I only got into this show about a month ago and I’m officially obsessed. I’m sorry I’m late on the bandwagon but at least I made it! If this was network TV it would have been canned after the first episode. Thank goodness it’s not!
Welcome to the bandwagon…there’s always room for more…as long as you share your smokes and Stoli!!!
ZZZZZZZ…BORING…ZZZZZ. A disenting opinion
Mad Men and True Blood are the best shows on tv right now.
yay!!!
Garrett, you’re on the wrong post. You want the Ann Coulter Liberal bashing site.
Mad Men is a great show!!
If AMC wants this show to soar, as it rightfully should, my suggestion would be to get it off Sunday night. It deserves a far better audience demographic than Sunday can offer. This is one of TV’s best scripted shows which I hope will be around for years to come.
Can you guys keep the BS politics discussion out of this. It was a great premiere episode. I’ve spent the last month catching up on the season 1 and 2 DVD’s and am finally able to watch this show live week to week. Beautiful show all around. I think it’s one of the best period dramas ever produced (whether in film or TV) Kudos to Matt Weiner and his production staff and AMC.
