Brothers & Sisters has tapped the sublime Amy Aquino — she was Dr. Coburn on ER and Keri Russell’s no-nonsense, chain-smoking shrink on Felicity (loved her!) — for a multi-episode arc, sources confirm to me exclusively. Additionally, Peter Gerety (Homicide, The Wire) is joining the cast for several episodes.
Aquino will play a doctor (spoiler alert!) treating a member of the Walker clan who shall remain nameless. Gerety, meanwhile, will appear as a “surprising outsider,” according to (ironically enough) an insider.
Love her! She doesn’t get enough kudos for all the work she’s done.

Aw, man. When you mentioned “The Wire,” I was certain there would be an injection of color into the cast. I love the show, but I would also love to see some more ethnicity than the occasional guest star with the arc that goes nowhere (Michael Beach in season 1, Danny Glover in season 2).
She was also great on Everybody Loves Raymond as Peggy, the woman who beat up Ray! He was great on the wire

Love that movie–I remember her in it! Tess thought she was Amy’s character’s secretary, but Amy was actually Tess’s secretary!! Great movie!
oh my gosh, i loved her as felicity’s advisor! i just re-watched the entire series a few months ago, and i was reminded of how excellent she was. now they need to recruit keri russell and everything will be complete. scratch that. true blood needs to recruit keri russell. she would make an awesome vamp, i mean, have you seen her skin? no, wait. friday night lights needs to recruit her. her accent was terrific in ‘waitress’. okay, anybody else see where i’m going with this? paging keri russell, paging keri russell. you’re needed on the tube again, stat!
