Unfortunately, this show just doesn’t even resemble Smallville anymore. I guess this is the new generation’s Superman. No thanks. It seems they are continuing where DD left off, aka dark and without hope. That’s not a Superman I can connect with. Sorry.
Easy to criticize only the trailer, all you devotees of Smallville before writing the series 9 Fesser there apparently limited, September 25 to wait, watch and then you can write something sensible.

I think, at this point, Clark isn’t “dark” so much as he simply can’t live as a “human” anymore. Also, I don’t think he’ll ever be able to really “embrace his Cryptonian destiny” simply because, he IS Clark Kent, and Clark Kent is more human than anyone in the show (which is what makes Superman’s character–whether in Smallville or the comics–so vulnerable and relatable).
Don’t worry peeps. Clark won’t go too far away. He’s just got to wrestle with the fact–yet again–that he IS something more than human, but he always understands that even “god” cannot break human will (and by this, I mean: defiance in the face of authority is humanity’s most defining trait; not even “gods” like Zod or others who attempt to subdue the world will ever succeed–that is Clark’s weapon as a Cryptonian. He knows what it means to be human, and so, can never fully embrace his Cryptonian side and lose those traits of humility and compassion that flaw him as a “god” among men).
heres the thing mr. i have to go by clark kent because my name will not work. women do know how to cook and clean for the most part so back off of that kick I understand that people have to go through there darkest hour but i am sorry i think smallville should have stuck to the fact that jimmy is alive and i don’t think that the show should have Clark Kent go back to be his dark self because a superhero is suppose to be a becon of hope not a bad person after all he is the good guy. I hope this season he becomes the hero he is ment to be i mean they can always still show the show after he becomes superman. I beleive that you using the clark kent name you should be acting more like clark kent a man who would never insult the other sex in such a distasteful way. so pull your head out of the ground and think before you type.the initals above are my intials i dont need you use some charaters name to feel better about my self.

I like Smallville as much if not more than most. Have you forgotten how badly last season ended. It was awful and left a “super” bad taste in my mouth. I’ll be DVRing, but I’m not excited. You won’t get my hopes up again for nothing Smallville…

It’s really simple: if you don’t like Smallville anymore then don’t watch it. I think the tralier looks awesome and i’m psyched for Season 9. I feel like this show started off awesome in the beginning, had a rough patch in the middle and it’s gotten really great again (the season 8 finale withstanding) as it’s neared the end. Can’t wait for Season 9
They seriously need to bring back Lex Luthor, granted there are many new things happening in Clark’s life, but to me, Superman just isnt Superman without good ol Lex Luthor…;)
