@ Alex. Not a rip on you , but how in God’s name can you pretend that the final season of Buffy didn’t happen? I mean I could understand if you wanted to stop at Season Five, because it had a closed book ending. Season Six ended with a cliffhanger and a lot of of the characters at a crossroads.
I loved EVERY season of Buffy and do not for a second think that ever limped at all. As for Supernatural, I pray that it doesn’t end up like Smallville which should have ended (not canceled) years ago. I I agree with every word the previous poster Steve said. Kripe should stick with the plan and not turn it into a farce.
I would love to see this show continue as long as Kripke, Jensen and Jared are enthusiastically involved and there is a story to tell. When that is no longer the case, I hope the show ends on a high note. If that is season 5, so be it. My heart would break, but at least the show would maintain its integrity.
Perfectly said.
Buffy got better at the end and I think ended amazingly.
I have to say I would love it to go out with a bang and if Kripke wasn’t involved in the questionable next season if it got renewed then I think I wouldn’t watch it, even though I love watching the boys on TV.
But with Lucifer and everything that’s going to happen I dunno how they could get a bigger storyline, like Buffy had the first evil Lucifer kinda covers that for Supernatural.
So as much as it pains me I think this should be the last season.
Buffy did not limp to the finish. I don’t know what Buffy you were watching. The X-Files took a wrong turn that is where they went wrong. But Supernatural still has strong story lines and strong characters. It still has a few good season left in it.
I guess to each his own. I also think that Buffy limped over finish line. Buffy seasons 1-3 are some of the best TV ever created. After that it’s between average and good, with only a couple of great episodes.
Still as a fan you don’t want your favorite shows to never end, so i hope that supernatural continues after 5th season.
You all talk about how it is gonna be if they prolong it. Last season on buffy we all watched it , good or bad , we would watch season 11 of Supernatural , admit it….
Look at SG1 it had better or worse seasons but it ended spectacular INDEED!!!
By what twisted standards did Buffy “limp” to its ending?
Supernatural life after Kripke? No, thanks.
And what’s with this new abbreviation of the title? LOL, Ause.
I’m in two minds about this. I love this show to death, and want it to go on forever, but I would love for Jensen Ackles to have an opportunity to move on. I think he is such a brilliant dramatic actor, and I would love to see him on the big screen in meaty roles. But without his Dean Winchester, SPN just wouldn’t be the same, so…
It must go on! Seriously it can’t just end after season 5
i think the show deserves at least 7 seasons.
supernatural is the best and i never want it to end.but want it to end with a big bang. not like some of the other t.v series recenty like prison break and lost the just went on for to long and got crap
I agree…Buffy DID NOT limp across the finish line. That being said, I will say that season 6 is my least favorite (though still good), and season 7 wasn’t as good as, say, season 3. Still, that would have been nearly impossible, and for a long running show I think it was consistently very good, and even great (season 2, 3, and 5 were beyond great even). I found the final season to be a good way to end the series, and the series finale was absolutely amazing.
On the other hand…The X-Files did limp across the finish line. As for Supernatural, I think that season 5 should be the end.
Come on Supernatural has WAY MORE than one season of steam left to it.
It seemed to JUST be hitting it’s stride last Year !
NOW is not the time to bow out.
How stupid !
It has taken this long to build a large audience a real loyal following and a great show WHY FLUSH IT DOWN THE TOILET NOW ?
Dumb VERY DUMB !
Supernatural has at least a few more seasons left to it.
And the Creator should be warned not to come looking for ANOTHER LOYAL AUDIENCE if he trashes a show and walks away !!!
can’t get over how adamant people are that this is a dumb idea.which i don’t agree with.British tv has no problem cranking out short run excellent programming,i see that trend starting to take hold on this side of the pond as show creators NOT networks (ie LOST)get to decide when to end.loved this show since the pilot, but i respect Kripke’s (as well as his casts’)desire to finish on a high note.
I say continue the show only if there is still a good story to tell. This add on side show idea is only good depending on which characters it’s going to be based upon. I know Dean and Sam will NEVER kill Lucifer, but they can stop the bad from coming and maybe even ridding earth of it’s fallen… I love this show and I don’t want to see Supe go, but if there is no story to tell, I say BRING ON THE BANG!!!
I’m good with whatever he does and Smallville is AMAZING, it is freaken blasting into its finale whenever that will be
I would love to see Supernatural be one of those long running shows in tv history, BUT I still want it to be as good as it is now! Period.
If Kripke is going to wrap up the story in 2010 then I feel that should be the end of Supernatural.
I hate to see this show go on with new writers and it become a huge joke.
I’ve seen this happen to many shows case in point CSI, and Smallville.
