Personally, I loved the character of Lucas Douglas and the new elements he brought to the show through his witty banter with House, and the intellectual challenge he represented for House’s character, using his own differing style of intelligence to assess the motives and personalities of the other characters. In some ways, his aforementioned skills matched those of House himself, but in a far less acerbic manner. Since that is usually Wilson’s role, I can see how Lucas’ part was very much a temporary replacement for Wilson that was no longer necessary once Wilson returned. Despite this, I think the character of Lucas in general, as well as his relationship to House, were both sufficiently unique and enthralling to have allowed him to remain on the show (along with Wilson) without being redundant. I was disappointed that the added dimension Weston brought to the show was so short-lived, and also frustrated with the lack of explanation (within the show) for his sudden departure. So, needless to say, I am excitedly looking forward to his return, and even continue to hold onto a hope that David Shore will reconsider the spin-off program that Weston was to star in.

House better watch his girl. I found this page as a clue of Cuddy possibly getting some action of her own. It would be fair though, seeing as House got action in the premiere and is never man enough to sweep Cuddy off her feet. Lucus might just do that. Whatever happens is going to be great. It always is. Lucus is awesome so House has competition. Uh-oh :O

I can’t believe everyone’s comments are positive. Weston/Lucas was entertaining as a PI working for House, but as Cuddy’s new boyfriend, come on? I understand most want Cuddy and House to get together, but the show must go on. So, sure, Cuddy can date and House can too, but every time there’s a scene with Cuddy and Lucas, I want to change the channel. He’s annoying, creepy and the writers could have given Cuddy someone better. I used to look forward to scenes between House and Cuddy, but now they are tiresome and boring. The scenes toy with the tension but there’s never any substance. She’s either too busy to deal with House or House is interrupted by a patient dying. Either give her someone good and have them both agree that it was not meant to be or keep the tension going, but keep her romantic life off screen and have House move on to another fixation. Well, that’s my two cents. I guess I’m just getting tired of the show.
