Casting Scoops: 'Numb3rs,' 'NCIS,' 'Scrubs,' and more!

Annie-Potts-Mark-Harmon_lAnyone in the mood for some exclusive casting scoop? No? Too bad, it’s already been written and pasted below.

* Arrested Development‘s Tony Hale will guest star in an October episode of Numb3rs as an erratically brilliant biotech professor with some interesting ethical notions.

* Two and a Half Men has tapped Annie Potts to play Judith’s (Marin Hinkle) fresh-out-of-rehab mother in an episode airing Oct. 5.

* Windell Middlebrooks (The Suite Life on Deck) is checking into Scrubs as one of the med school’s two security guards.

* NCIS is casting the potentially recurring role of Agent Ruiz, an attractive, athletic, and competent federal agent in her late 20s to mid 30s who tends to put her foot in her mouth. Got casting tips? Post ‘em below!

Monique Curnen from “The Unusuals” would be perfect for Agent Ruiz

    • Fran

I think Kristen Bell would be great as an NCIS agent. She could handle both the dramatic and humorize side of the show and would be a great antogonist for Tony.

      • Sparky

Kristen would be great – we would finally get a chance to see what Veronica would be like as an FBI agent…. Love it now work some of your magic Michael!!!!

      • bumblebee292

Hey, Fran Id love to see the look on Tonys face if Kirsten Bell was on the show, she’s a great actress, and would fit into the cast quite well.

      • Yesenia

Kristin Bell as a Ruiz? Why not? I miss seeing her on tv regularly.

      • spikesgrl

I would love to see Kristen Bell back on weekly tv. Especially something other than “Heroes” which I have given up on.

      • Nancy

isn’t Kristen Bell on “Army Wives?”

    • Maren Marx

I agree! Monique Curnen would be great!

    • vanessa

      PIcK ME!! :)

  • Shell

I know I’m old enough to be his mother, but when the Duck laid that kiss on me last night, I swear my thighs just went up in flames! He must practice on melons or something.

I may actually have to watch that episode of Two and a Half men.

    • devon

Fantastic reference. Had to read it a few times before I ‘got’ it. That will make the ep even better. Thanks!

  • Mr. M

Glad to see someone else watched “The Unusuals”. Monique Curnen would be perfect for just about anything.

  • firefly827347

Now that Life has finished, I think Sarah Shahi would be a great choice for Ruiz.

    • Chet

I completely and utterly second this beautiful motion!

  • annie

Oh geez another attractive female in ncis? My guess: tony doesn’t even flirt with her cause he’s so preoccupied with ziva…

    • kate

      i sure hope so! hahaha

    • Mike

I am sure he flirts with her because she is female, and he is Tony – and after the crap Ziva has given him he deserves some one that won’t treat him like crap.

  • DeeDee

*who tends to put her foot in her “moth”*

So her foot is attracted to porch lights? Work on your typing, Mike!

    • Amanda

Ummm, where is this “mouth/moth” typo you’re dissing Michael about? Maybe you should work on your reading because the word in the article is clearly “mouth”.

      • Lina

Sometimes authors go back and make the edits but leave the posts. I’ve run into that a few times; it’s a little disconcerting…

      • DeeDee

Since you’re interested, the “moth” line was cut and pasted from the article earlier. It may read “mouth” now since Mikey went back and corrected it, but it did read “moth” before.

My reading is just fine. Thank you for your concern. ;P

    • Jason

DEEDEE- do you feel better now that you’ve exposed Mike’s shortcomings? You clearly got the point of what he was trying to say, but decided to be a typical D-Bag anyway. It’s people like you that make me hate society as a whole. You could have just been a decent human being, and ignored the OBVIOUSLY unintentional type-o. But, I guess if being a superficial idiot comes that easily to you, then you must always go with your strengths. You’re a D-Bag of the worst kind.

      • Xanadu West

Hey, Jason… that should be “typo”, not “Type-O”.

      • chelle

        Pot…kettle…hmmm

  • Matt Webb Mitovich

Annie Potts as Judith’s mother is brill!

    • Laura

Matt, is that really you. Where have you been?

  • dave

Is it true that Colby’s character on “Numb3rs” this year is going to be revealed to be bisexual?

    • Bernie

Excuse me, but can you please tell us where you heared this from?
All of us fans over at LJ are very interested in this comment. :D

  • Nerwen Aldarion

Hmmm I’ve learned not to be so expectant for the NCIS casting scoops, often times they amount to little or nothing at all. I’ll wait until I actually see it on the screen before I believe it.

  • Chappel

“NCIS is casting the potentially recurring role of Agent Ruiz, an attractive, athletic, and competent federal agent in her late 20s to mid 30s who tends to put her foot in her mouth. Got casting tips?” Please God… anyone but Michelle Rodriguez! How about Gladys Jimenez? I loved her in Tremors: the Series, and I think she’d be a perfect fit for the character.

    • Raven

please not another agent for tony to flirt with please!!!!

    • queenie

I was thinking – since Without A Trace is being cancelled – how about Roslyn Sanchez I thought she was good on that show – heck she was with cute Danny

  • TVDiva

How about kellie martin for the new NCIS agent??

    • Melody

Interesting – not a bad idea. I’ve always loved Kellie Martin.

  • SLC

I’m assuming they want Agent Ruiz to be of some sort of unique ethnicity based on the name they gave her? So Kellie Martin and Kristen Bell are really bad ideas… they also don’t sound like good fits for the description.

Personally, Paola Turbay would be good for the part in my opinion. She’s gorgeous, tough, has that sassy potentially foot in mouth thing going on, and she could pull off NCIS agent easily.

    • sruiz

Yes, Ruiz is a hispanic last name. I myself am from Puerto Rico, so a Puerto Rican actress like Rosyln Sanchez (though I am not a big fan) might work.

      • misterv

I agree. I am not a fan of Roslyn Sanchez. There have to be talented hispanic actresses out there who would be better choices.

  • Mike

Michelle Rodriguez, who was in Season 2 of Lost, fits the description for Ruiz.

  • LVG

Lauren Graham would be fantastic !

    • Paul

Agreed Lauren Graham would rock on NCIS!

  • vi

I think the girl who played reese on life, alexis bledel, or Lauren Graham of COURSE!!!
