“will cross over to Housewives “as background extras.””
Ooooh… I can’t wait! How exciting! I’ll watch any commercial, as long as they’re “background extras”!
/sarcasm
I never watch commercials. I usually tape everything and watch it later. An advertisers worst nightmare I know. I wish all shows would just be sponsered by certain companies and skip the commercials. Just have an announcement at the begining in the middle..and the end.
Dumb and dumber.
Oh people, why the hysterics? I love the fact that television is free, and if FREE TV means I have sit through a few commercials, that’s fine with me. –and if they manage to make the commercials a little entertaining, then all the better.
Stop your complaining!
Another thing…I think they are seriously overestimating the efficacy of commercials. So let’s say these Sprint commercials are really funny. So then let’s further say that I actually watch them. Will this get me to drop my contract with my current provider and get Sprint? No. I really like my current provider and I could care less about Sprint. No matter how clever their commercial is, it isn’t going to get me to buy something I don’t want in the first place.
Am I missing something here? These are still just going to be commercials right? Just perhaps more interesting. In my opinion Tivo doesn’t need to make a move. As a Tivo subscriber I will still fastforward through them. Not since the Nike commercials of the 80′s has advertising been worth the time spent and no amount of clever advertising will make me switch to Sprint … so no need to watch for me
Fox might have the best idea that they tried out with a couple of shows, have only 60 or 90 second commercial blocks. This way its long enough to get a drink or do something else, but really not long enough to be compelled to use the DVR functions and you end up actually watching more commercials. The best option I think would be the short blocks during the show and have it end 5 minutes before the top of the hour, like 7:55 and the rest be a long commercial block. If you remember this was how it was back in the ’80s. Back then it was a necessity since most people did not have recording devices and needed time to find and switch to the next program they wanted to watch or needed a break to do other things that could take a little bit of time. We don’t need that break anymore with all the methods of recording shows, but it could become useful again to get commercial time in. This way they could charge advertisers more for the prime short blocks during the show and offer “cheap” air time during the long break, which could also be used for the networks own commercials.
how lame and boring to do this. who would really wanna see this?
not watching this crap
I agree with FHL. If we have to watch ads, they might as well be entertaining.
Unless they are nude while they do these commercials, I will still be buzzing through them to get to the show.
people, i do not understand the fans of this serial. what does it have? why is it so popular? Housewives find themselves there? or what?
Thrilling. Zzzz. Yawn.
