I’m kind of loving Psych‘s love of all things ’80s and Brat Packish. The USA comedy has tapped Judd Nelson to guest star in an episode to air this winter. He’ll play a CDC researcher who specializes in a made-up Ebola-like ailment called Thornburg’s disease. In Psych‘s third season finale, Ally Sheedy was outed as the Ying Yang Killer. Who will they recruit next? Demi Moore as Shawn’s quirky aunt older sister? Got a better idea? Post it below!

I’m waiting for Billy Zabka to appear on that show. It played the bad guy in like every 80′s teen movie. I love this show. They need to bring back Lou Diamond Phillips back on there. I loved his episode.
I really can’t wait for this episode. Shawn’s ID badge was Judd Nelson in the high school reunion episode and he was mentioned so many times in that episode (aka the homage to John Hughes) that it only seems fitting he’ll be a guest star. Gotta love Psych.
I know! Shawn’s gonna freak when he sees a JN lookalike. Unless, Nelson will play himself as a researcher. Which would be weird, but the years have been tough on the brat packers…
Anyway, can’t wait!
Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith from the Dead Zone. HAHAHA!!!
Anthony Micheal Hall as the geek from Shawn’s HS who became the hunk who goes for Abby
The anticipation for this episode may very well kill me. I can only imagine how the cast and everyone all reacted to the news, especially James Roday. To be a fly on that wall would have been amazing!
best show on tv.
It won’t happen – but I would love to see Jason Bateman as Shawn’s long lost brother
OR
How about John Hughes’ buddy Steve Martin comes in for an episode where Shawn’s mom concedes she does not know who the father actually is – Steve Martin or Corbin Bernsen
I have been WAITING for this casting. Amazing. Can’t wait!!
The reunion episode was one of my favs, I loved John Hughes (RIP).
I’m so excited they got got Judd Nelson, it’s just perfect since they have referenced him so much.
I would LOVE it if the got Val Kilmer, that would be perfect.
Get molly ringwald to play shawns aunt! or how about richard grieco as a villain!
have they ever introduced the chief’s husband? they could get one of the brat pack for that
This looks more like a Breakfast Club theme than 80s. Get Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, or Emilio Estevez.
I think Shawn and Gus would be hysterical in a Rocky Horror Picture Show or Phantom of the Opera themed crime. The crazy crime sololving possibilites would be endless!
I definitely think ‘Psych’ is due for an Alan Ruck guest appearance. He’s all the rage on cable TV these days, with a recurring role on ABC Family’s underrated college dramedy ‘Greek.’ He’s still got it.
Lelia,
I was just watching last season’s dvds and Alan Ruck was in the episode “Gus walks into a bank.” He played the bank robber. Remember?
OMG, this is so awesome. The writers and casting on this show is unreal. Val Kilmer would be the best follow up to this with the obsession with Real Genius. Seriously, that John Hughes episode was brilliant.
