I didn’t bother to watch either one and don’t ever plan on watching them. Bring back Hidden Palms!

Enjoyed 90210, it jumped straight in. Of course I don’t know why they are having another s** video scandal so soon. The original Melrose Place started slow, before it became must see tv. I am going to watch it again.

I can’t stand shows like this. Gossip Girl is another one I hate!

My question is who the heck thought Ashley Simpson could act? Is that the best they could do?

    • P

Ya she was absolutely horrific!!! This is the first time I have seen her in anything and I kind of had high hopes because everyone went on and on about 7th Heaven and her in it… I never watched the show, and even if I could, I probably wouldn’t but seriously who ever thought she was good actor really needs to watch more tv and movies!!

ITA about Ashlee’s atrocious “acting”. I think that was the reason I just couldn’t get into it. It was embarrassing and I was cringing. And that was after only a few minutes! I am dumbfounded as to why she was hired as there must be many talented and beautiful actresses in la-la-land seeking work. As for 7th Heaven, Ashlee fit right in over there, because I truly believe it was a requirement for all cast members there to have no acting ability.

Melrose Place was much better than I expected. This show has a lot of potential.

If the lead-in only pulls 2.6 million viewers, how can a series premiere be deemed a disappointment for keeping 2.3 million of those viewers? If ‘Samantha Who’ kept that same percentage of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ lead-in it would probably still be on the air. Same goes for ‘Lost’ and ‘The Unusuals,’ I could go on bit you get my point. I’m not a fan of all these remakes of ’90s shows, but considering the CW’s average ratings I don’t understand how mathematically this show was a flop.

I couldn’t make it past the first commercial break of Melrose. I immediately erased all future recordings. I couldn’t even stomach it long enough to wait for the return of Thomas Calabro. Maybe the target audience is the same as “The Hills”. That’s not me. The dialogue (what I saw so far) was just awful. The guy reading his phone while smooching, imploring someone to leave his job because “Sydney’s in trouble”, “this is how things are done in Hollywood”, etc. It was all so LAME.

Just another CW show about anorexic skanks. Seriously who comes up with these awful shows?

  • meme

Wow…you get this crap, but you cancel Veronica Mars!!!

  • kate

I just watched it and well parts were ok but nothing impressive, 1 sesaon is all i can see it having, i still cant beelive they cancelled privileged for this, massssssive mistake take away an original show for an ok remake!!

  • P

I was too young to watch melrose place when it originally came out, but I decided to give this one a try, (even though I am pissed at the CW for not putting on body politic): 1. there was nothing else to watch and 2. I wanted to see if I would like it; but mostly because of 1. However because I never watched the original I felt kind out of the loop. This is one show that is not going to be a regular scheduled DVR. And like someone above said, once ABC, CBS, and NBC start all their shows, Melrose Place ratings will fall even further. I doubt that is going to get it off the air though!

As for 90210 – I really do love it. It is so childish and so far out – I mean really who the frack dresses up like that for their first day of high school!!! I went to a private boarding school, okay we had uniforms, but honestly even in our free time we never dressed like that!! Unless one works for the fashion industry nobody dresses like that on a day-to-day basis!!! But I kind of heart the drama – it is trashtastic!!!

I wish the CW had an inch of originality. Melrose and 90210 both haven’t been off the air that long. Ashley Simpson-Wentz is so miscast and needs to go the Bronx. How about some characters not the norm for Melrose or 90210, like an overweight teen girl. Have her fall in love with Trevor Donovan’s new character on 90210 and vice versa. I would watch that.

  • Natalie

I like both the new 90210 and Melrose, but lets get serious, nothing is better than the original and that goes for just about everything!

  • The Truth

Stop the remakes, especially shows that have been off the air for only a decade! Get an original thought.

  • HITARV

I watched both last night. I watched 90210 all of last year, so I was pretty excited about the new one. It did not disappoint. Sounds like we have an interesting season ahead for Annie and the gang. As for Melrose Place… I was not impressed. I like shows where I am connected to the characters within the 1st hour… it didn’t happen for me last night.
