    I love Ellen. She’s a talented funny
lady but she doesn’t belong on AI.
    I can’t believe they couldn’t hire
a great singer such as Gladys Knight(who guest judged) to step into Paula’s spot.
It is also interesting that they
couldn’t seem to find enough money
to resign Paula and yet they get
Ellen who is probably getting more. Perhaps they never wanted
Paula back in the first place.

American Idol will NOT stay nr 1 without PAULA. Idol is the kind of show that NEEDS a star who creates MOMENTS for it to remain nr 1. PAULA was that star. She has created moment after moment of buzz worthy TV. She has single hand put this show in the headlines again and again. Ellen has NEVER created a single TV moment in her entire career- and she isnt about to start now, because you either have IT or you dont. Paula has IT. Ellen doesnt. Idol nr 1= 2002-2009.

No wonder that America is such a skrewed up nation, people wasting good time watching people try and sing. Whatever happened to breaking in to the business the old fashioned way……….working for it. Play the clubs, build up a fan base, cut a demo etc. America goes into the crapper and we have ditzy people judging if someone can sing or not. Simon at least tell people that they “suck”.I personally cannot stand Ellen or her “wife”. Now we have 3 “men” judging on American Idol. At least 2 of them are real men.

You are all so very amusing. You honestly thing AI gives a darn what we think? Even if 1/3 of all viewers stop tuning in, it will still stomp mud holes in every other show. Also, Ellen wasn’t chosen because of her music ability. She was chosen because she has a powerhouse daytime TV show and already kisses AI’s butt when it’s in season. This will only increase the cross-promotion and make them all more money. Bottom line.

Oh and to the people who think this will “kill” AI….she’s signed a 5 year contract so keep dreaming. Cry all you want, it’s cross marketing between day time and night time powerhouses (with Seacrest kissing butt on the radio to boot) in order to make the network oodles of cash.

i love Ellen & i support her… give her a chance… She is a beautiful lady that will say the right thing… Ellen, you have my total support in whatever you do… i wish i was working for her!;)! Congrats, Ellen!

My boyfriend said that Ellen is Trent Reznor’s (Nine Inch Nails) sister. Is this true or is he just blowing smoke up my arse? If this is true, then she probably knows a lot more about the music industry than people are giving her credit for. And I’d love to see Trent as a music mentor.

Wow..after 9 seasons of being addicted to AI, they finally figured out how to stop me from watching! Thanks for giving me a reason to watch other networks this winter!

  • A BAD DECISION

“This is what you want: a big name people adore. And she’s funny, she’s entertaining, and she’s in love with the show.” WHAT A JOKE! Adding an unqualified Judge further demeans the American Idol Judging Process. Adding a 4th Judge to the panel was a big mistake. A useless waste of time. By adding a Judge with no musical or music industry experience, the Judgeing panal is further weakened for the sake of a few laughs. In fact, the whole American Idol Contest has become tainted. Unlike other Reality Shows that promote public voting for contestants, but limit the votes cast per person, the American Idol voting system is a SHAM that allows American Idol sponsor, AT&T, to rake in millions of dollars from power text voting which disenfranchises the average American Idol voter. How fair is it that text voters can push out up to 10,000 text votes for a contestant in two hours? Or that telephone votes can turn in over 1,000? As the American audience becomes disillusioned with the poor quality of the American Idol Judging Panel, and the phony voting system, Fox and 19 Entertainment will find they have killed the Golden Goose (or jumped the Shark).

Let’s see…I have no problem with Ellen’s talent. I just feel it is the wrong fit for AI. I don’t want a “fan” giving feedback to the contestants. I want someone with a music industry background to give thoughtful, intelligent, constructive criticism to the contestants that they can really use to improve their performances week after week. THAT is what AI has been lacking and unfortunately they are still choosing to avoid. Randy’s “dawgs”, Kara’s histrionics are useless. Simon does bring valuable feedback, but it is not often constructive. Paula was a cheerleader. This year we will have the endless punch line. Shame on the execs at AI. I LOVE NCIS and will be moving on. Too bad…I really like the idea behind AI, but it is just becoming a running joke. Ellen will just fan the flames.

Well it seemed anyway that Fox didn’t care what the fans wanted from the show when they put Ellen in Paula’s place. I loved Paula on AI,they should have given Paula what she deserved, she has been there from the beginning and I won’t be surprised if they are buying Ellen more then what they offered Paula. It is just terrible how they treated Paula!

      Oops…paying
