Exclusive: Ray Wise moves into 'Dollhouse'

Tags: , News

Ray-Wise_lIt’s not James Marsters but this will do nicely…

Dollhouse has tapped spooky-cool Ray Wise to join the cast in the potentially recurring role of Howard, an intelligent higher-up in the Dollhouse who has huge presence and humor.

Wise is coming off of a two-year stint as Lucifer on The CW’s Reaper. Of course, to me, he’ll forever be the dude who offed Laura Palmer.

Dollhouse, which kicks off season 2 a week from Friday, is amassing quite the impressive talent roster this season. In addition to Wise, upcoming guest stars include Jamie Bamber, Keith Carradine, Alexis Denisoff, and Summer Glau.

Thoughts on Wise’s casting? Sound off below!

Wise rules, and beside his creepy role in Peaks, he was also part of the most deliciously evil crew of villains on film in Robocop! Keep up the great casting in Dollhouse, whose star also puts in the lead performance in today’s gaming release, WET.

    • Krizia

I pick up my reserved WET game today :) And yes, solid choice on the Ray Wise casting (although I would have loved James Marsters as well).

  • Melissa

I enjoy Ray Wise, but I was looking forward to James Marsters. I know it was just a pipe dream, but you’ve made so many of those come true. Maybe Joss will still find a place for him!

    • Valley Girl

Agree with you completely. He was terrific and terrifying as Leland Palmer…

      • Henry

        LAURA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *dances with my laptop*

  • orville

Very cool casting coup. I’m really excited for the season now. No one does creepy/evil with humor quite like him.

  • Pete

    F*ck yeah!

  • harry

    YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!

  • Jon

Love Ray Wise. Brings evil and humor to everything he does.

  • Joe

    Loves it.

  • Will

This is awesome news. Spoiler alert on that Laura Palmer thing. I hope I forget it by the time I get around to watching that show.

    • jon

Oh, please. That spoiler is twenty years old.

      • Bryn

Yeah, but Twin Peaks is one of those iconic shows that is still spreading by word of mouth, and the final reveal of who did it is important to enjoying the show. Alright so the information is out there, but isn’t it respectful to those that haven’t got around to watching the show yet to keep that piece of information quiet?

      • really?

seriously. i still planned on watching it one day and now??? oh well.

      • richardfoc

Besides, it was Bob who really killed Laura. Oops. TMI?

    • Shasta

Yeah, because the only thing going on with that show was who killed Laura Palmer. Give me a break. That was publicity. Anyone who actually watched the show when it was on was watching it for all the other crazy stuff that was happening. Jesus gets crucified, too. Oh, sorry, SPOILER!

    • Cecily Roberts

This wouldn’t matter, because he was the best thing about the show anyway!!!

  • Sara

Yay yay yay! One of the worst things about Reaper getting canceled was not seeing Ray Wise as the devil every weak – but this is definitely the next best thing.

  • JPNS

FANNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC! What a great addition to the series.

  • tracey

    GENIUS!

  • Serena

I like Wise, wish I liked Dollhouse enough to watch him in it.

    • really?

check it out. it was one season. they were working out kinks and didn’t even know if they’d be back for a second.

      • M.J.

I saw enough to know that, as long as there is one pile of unsorted paperclips on God’s earth, I will always have something better to do than watch “Dollhouse.”

  • Kris

I love Ray Wise and it will be awesome to see him on Dollhouse. I am just still really sad that Reaper was cancelled. The show was hillarious.

  • Heather

This is great news!! Ray Wise was brilliant on Reaper and I can’t wait to see him on Dollhouse!! However they should create a role for James Marsters further down the road on Dollhouse!

  • Clavie

I’m happy with the choice, but I still wish James Marsters finds his way to Dollhouse or TV in general.

    • Brody

They just announced a few weeks ago that he would have a pretty major arc on Caprica, if I remember correctly.
