Emmy intel: 'Big Bang' star predicts Jim Parsons victory

I’m not the only one who thinks Jim Parsons will take home a fancy gold statue on Sunday. At Thursday’s Entertainment Weekly pre-Emmy party, Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco also predicted that her on-screen foil would triumph in the lead actor comedy race. Even better, she followed that prediction with some Leonard-Penny-Sheldon scoop!

To see who else I ran into at last night's bash (hint: Katee Sackhoff, Carlton Cuse, and more) head over to ourĀ Emmy hub ASAP.

I think Neil Patrick Harris should win this year. He’s been nominated for so long, he deserves one.
Then it will be Jim Parsons turn next year.

    • Breno Adegas

Jim parsons is up for lead actor and Neil is up for supporting. IMO, they will both win this year.

      • Dave

If both Jim Parsons and Neil Patrick Harris win this year, that would be awesome and a massive boost for both shows, particularly HIMYM (because TBBT got a 2 years renewal).

  • couchgrouch

Parsons better win this year(although Baldwin has more to do than act like Spock jr). by next year people will realize BBT theory is just Two and a Half Men with geeks.

    • Dave

“2.5 Men with geeks”? Are you for real?

TBBT is nothing like 2.5 Men. It’s actually funny, unlike 2.5 Men.

  • J

Of course she’s going to say she thinks her co-star will win.

  • NamathGuarantee

    Kaley Cuoco is very beautiful.

  • takineko

    WIN JIM!
    GO GO GO!

  • Michael

You guys are lame. Steve Carrel should win! He deserves it!

  • Katie

I don’t even watch the show really and I know (from clips and reviews) that Penny/Sheldon would be more interesting than Penny/Leonard.

    • Liz

You should watch the show and not just clips before you start telling how it should be.

      • Christine

Well, P/S is better and more interesting than L/P. And I say that as a fan since the beginning.

  • Lee Ann

I truly hope Jim Parsons wins an Emmy for his brilliant portrayal of Sheldon. He was also hilarious in a tiny part in ‘Garden State’. He’s just great-period.

  • Michele

It would be good if he did, because frankly I’m sick of Alec Baldwin getting it every year, as well as every single category 30 rock gets nominted in. It’s so ridiculous, every year I’m shocked by it. It’s really not that funny, I honestly think people are just so in love with Tina Fey that they’ll hand her an Emmy for any crappy thing she does. Don’t get me wrong, 30 Rock is ok, but nowhere near the funniest thing on TV. How I Met Your Mother trumps it, and I really think this year HIMYM is due for a win. It’s a hundred times more sharper, better written, funny, and relevant than the overrated 30 Rock.

    • John

As someone who is utterly and unabashedly in love with 30 Rock (and not just because of Tina Fey), I’ll actually go along and agree with you; I’d like to see some other shows win this year. 30 Rock’s genius is in its writing, and it’ll probably win there. But the other categories, I say game on!

      • Michele

I mean I don’t hate 30 Rock at all, really I don’t. But I’m so sick of it winning EVERY Golden Globe and Emmy that it gets nominated for. It’s just that, in my humble opinion, it’s just not the funniest thing on TV. And I think there are plenty of other actors who deserve to win it over Alec Baldwin; actors whose characters have more dimensions than Baldwin’s. I dunno, I can’t argue with it’s (30 rock’s) nominations, but it seems to me that there’s much more deserving comedies/comedy actors.

  • Charlotte

I don’t know if it was just me or not, but it seemed like Kaley wasn’t herself like she wasn’t there for all of it. I think she did some pre-interview intake of special beverages. lol. I don’t blame her and I still love her.

  • Neuroticsavant

This show and the other comdies of CBS (HIMYM & 21/1M) are overated .. not FUNNY either

  • Anna

He shoulda won. And Penny Sheldon is…I have to be polite on here, don’t I? Ok, well I’ll say that I’ve always been a fan too and I don’t get how people don’t see the chemistry between Penny and Leonard. I love them.
