It’s official: Fox has picked up Glee for a full season. The musicomedy, which has performed solidly in the ratings, initially received a 13-episode order from the network. The back-nine pickup brings the total number of first-season episodes to — I suck at math but I think I’ve got this — 22.
Thoughts? Relieved? Indifferent? Glee-full? Sound off below.

Glee-full indeed!! So excited! Love this show… just love it. Now they can make up for having Victor Garber on and not having him sing. Epic Fail.
Good point! He’s been nominated for Tonys in musicals, hasn’t he?
Didn’t he win for playing the Devil in a revival of Damn Yankees? And Debra Monk, who played his wife, also has Broadway musical cred. I smell a duet….
Victor Garber played Jesus in “Godspell” both on stage and in the movie version. Debra Monk was in the original Broadway cast of “Pump Boys & Dinettes” and “Curtains.” And they appeared together as part of the original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim’s “Assassins” (where Garber played John Wilkes Booth). Musical talent abounds with these two….
Garber also played Anthony in the original Broadway cast of “Sweeney Todd,” and Daddy Warbucks in the ABC-TV version of “Annie.” They had better have him sing!
I saw Victor Garber and his partner @ NYC Gay Pride this summer! I have always been a fan of his work, but I had no idea he was Family! Im glad the list of out and proud talented individuals continues to grow by leaps and bounds every day! Here’s to tolerance, pride, and more music in our lives!!
Garber was nominated for Damn Yankees, but didn’t win (i remember watching that particular year’s Tonys, but can’t remember who won instead of him–I do remember him losing, though, because i was disappointed)
Don’t forget he sang on the ill-fated “Eli Stone” – very refreshing, and shows he is so versatile.
Loved Eli Stone. VG was also in the Whitney Houston/Brandy version of Cinderella.
The very talented Victor Garber, who has received multiple Tony Award nominations as a lead in musicals, NOT singing in a television musicomedy… Epic Fail.
Naw, it’s your post that is “epic fail” not Glee. Sorry bout that, but try again next fall!
Not singing YET, kse. Would they have cast musical theatre vets as Will’s parents if they never intended for them to sing? I doubt it.
I sort of assumed that they would eventually have him sing. I figured that everyone they cast must be able to sing so that down the road, they can have every character do at least some singing. They just can’t have everyone sing yet or it would crowd the show too much. Why would we care enough about Victor Garber’s character at this point to hear him sing a song? They’re just planning ahead and saving him for later.
Too too soon. Glee has been doing anything but solid in the ratings, and this is the week when the competition really begins! I think Fox would have ordered a full season regardless just to see how it does with American Idol, thought.
However, as a Glee fan: OMG YES YES YES YES!!!!!!
Actually the ratings have been very robust so you (and me and every other Glee-k on here) are being rewarded for being “early adopters”
WOOO!!!!!!!!!
That fills my heart with GLEE!
YAY!!!!!
AWESOME!!!!
GIGGITY!!!!!!!
I’m so happy I could sing!
But I won’t. That would be cruel to you all.
We can’t hear you, Palais. Go right ahead and sing!
Yeah, scripted shows with talented people. Who would have thought something like that could survive.
Go Glee, Lea is amazing and the rest of the cast ain’t too shabby either.

Wow! u got ur math right!
A+
I am really glad this got picked up. It is my new favorite show. Yeah Glee!
YES!! This show deserved it before the 2nd ep aired. It’s only getting better and I can imagine how awesome the rest will be. Congrats to Dante and the rest of the Glee Gang. We love you guys!!
Your comment is exactly right – it deserved to get picked up BEFORE the second episode aired. The pilot was awesome, but the second and third episodes have been nothing more than “meh” all around.
So glad this show is so much fun!
A full season is going to allow the storylines to really develop.
This is great – I hope it sticks around for while. I’d hate to see Glee go the way of other clever programs like Pushing Daisies.
ditto…. r.i.p. Pushing Dasies =*(
Well said Amy! I sure hope ABC is proud of itself now for letting it and “Samantha Who?” get away.
Sadly, in this country good comedies, as opposed to crap like The Nanny, don’t last. They demand more than the average moron is able to give. Glee is superb, as was Pushing Daisies. So too is Reaper.
