Carell also waxed philosophic about his Emmy losing streak and answered this burning question: Is this the season The Office morphs into The Sopranos?!

Carell so deserves the Emmy. Yes, Alec Baldwin is funny, but Carell plays funny, clueless, sad, needy, lovesick, business-savvy, pathetic, and loving. The genius of Michael Scott is that he’s a loser that you can’t help but root for.
It is simply “politics” that keeps 30 Rock winning. Makes no sense. The Office is written so well and acted out so well – just a crying shame they don’t win more Emmys. Seriously.
Alec Baldwin does what he can with that one facial expression he has, but Carell was robbed. I think people voted for Baldwin because they were scared he’d call them on the phone and chew them out.

Carell’s problem is that The Office is way past its prime while 30 Rock is peaking. seasons 1-3 of The Office were great but it doesn’t compare to 30 Rock eps like , Generalissimo, Apollo, Apollo or Mamma Mia.
Steve Carell was robbed this year – yet AGAIN. He absolutely deserves to win an Emmy, and he is absolutely the best in his field – he has so much more depth of emotion than the other comedy actors. It’s criminal that he hasn’t won!
