I think Shemar Moore would be an excellent as Quinn in fact it is exactly how I pictured him from the books.

  • amber

they probablly already have an actor for it by now, but i just read club dead and i totally pictured jeffery dean morgan! i was so excited to see that he was on this list, im not the only one who thought of it!! :D

  • Kory

    Of course, Henry Cavill!

  • Laura

Please stop fighting for Billy Zane to play Quinn he’s entirely too old for the part. His acting is fine, just not fine enough to play someone 20 years his junior. No ones that good a actor.

  • Em

I think JP is high 20′s. He could play low 30′s.

  • chichi

Cavill is too skinny too pretty. Morgan is the only one on this list that is big enough and can carry himself as more than a kid someone who runs a successful business, a big burly protector. I always pictured Alicide to be older than Sookie anyway. Never pictured a prettyboy 25 year old.

  • Em

I think JP is high 20′s – I think he’s more age-appropriate than these suggestions.

  • Em

Isn’t JDM older than Liev Schreiber?

Alcide is supposed to be late 20′s-early 30′s. Calvin is supposed to be 50′s, right?

  • Tarc

too old. Too fair. Too hairless. I LOVE JDM, but he’s not even close to Alcide’s description.

  • Em

I hear you about acting, but this character is important, and his generation/relationship to elders is going to get more important going forward. I think they need to get someone who could be believable as a young adult.

  • charlie

they are looking for young, good looking and built like he could and would rip Eric’s arms off and feed them back to the vamp.

  • charlie

actually love, yes they are potentially goiing to be hooking Sookie up with him. and there are other issues that make a 40 something year old too old.

as for the casting of Sophie. they couldn’t use an at age girl for both legal reasons and for the reason that a 15 year old isn’t doing with that funny thing called puberty and her looks could change, sometimes a lot. which doesn’t work for an ageless vamp. but a 22 year old is less likely an issue and thus a better choice.

  • kad

I think Brian Austin Green would also be great as Alcide. He is burly and tough enough looking and he played the tough guy great in the Terminator series. He would be a good choice.

  • Tanahy

I agree with everything kad stated. Brian Austin Green would be perfect!

  • ann

really?! I can’t picture that AT ALL.

  • Rachel

I agree with Ann – I totally don’t see it. Loved him in SCC, but this just doesn’t work.

  • Erika

Brian A. Green is good looking and i could picture him as Alcide, but i dont think he can act. I KNOW Henry Cavill can act, i watch Tudors and he is great.

  • Baby Buster

    @Erika

As a True Blood fan, I say this with love… but I’m not sure acting chops are really a requirement for appearing on the show. (Alex, Kim and Nelsan excluded; they’re the only ones who don’t make me cringe week after week). Sorry Stephen, Anna, Rutina (ugh!), Sam… etc.

  • lindsay

Brian Austin Green! I never thought of him, but so true because of his eyes and build. Good Call, I am on Dead to the World right now.

  • Katie

Taylor is who I pictured the whole time I was reading the books. Good choice!

  • dee

Yeah, Taylor is just PERFECT, he’s got the looks, the acting skills, actually I think he’s too good for Alcide, but Taylor is doing FNL right now and he starts filming Disney&pixar’s John Carter of Mars, he’s the leading man of the franchise, he’s going to be very VERY busy :( damn

  • Tarc

Yup, these suggestions are the rare ones that are a actual match for the description of Alcide.

  • Jessica

Oh wow, I totally forgot about Scott Elrod, but I had a huge crush on him when he was on MIT. He’d be great

  • Rose

Anyone can get built for a part. Just look at all the actors that have done it for a role. Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Toby Macguire, Ryan Renolds, Hugh Jackman…The list goes on. Their physicque doesn’t really matter, that can be worked on. I’d be more concerned about their acting chops first.

  • Melissa

I didnt know who he was but on Imdb, he looks hot. I think hes great. And just b/c he’s short doesnt mean alot, movie magic does wonders…how do you think Tom Cruise can act againist Cameron Diaz

  • Traci

    OOOOHHH, yes, Hugh Jackman!!

  • Kel

Not too young..perfect age. Perfect everything! Alcide is in his TWENTIES!

  • TeRi-LyN

Ok, so maybe Karl Urban wouldn’t be a bad choice either. . .I can’t pick between Joe Manganiello or Karl Urban. . .I’d be satisfied either way!

  • ellemoe

Me too! OMG I love Eric Bana and have pictured him for Alcide for the past few months now. But like you said, they won’t get him. Sucks though. I’m voting for Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He’s been my ideal for Alcide before I thought about Eric Bana. Damn, why can’t we have it all…lol…

  • Marimba Ani

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is perfect for the part. He can read the right age on camera. I’m not worried about that. Besides, werewolves live hard. He should be a little grizzled. Oh, how I hope they get him. He has the range to make it work.

  • Amanda

I always pictured Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Calvin Norris more than Alcide, I think Steven Strait would be good though.

  • Amanda

I think he’s too old also but I WOULD DIE.

  • Valley Girl

OMG jasmin, Jason Momoa would be perfect as Quinn. I’ve seen him in person when “North Shore” shot at the Turtle Bay Resort – he’s 6’4″ and looks amazing! I wonder if he would shave his head…

  • Shannon

To bad Gerard Butler doesn’t have a younger brother. :)

  • Rebecca

Where did you get under 30 from??
