Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'Gossip Girl,' 'Office,' 'House,' 'Fringe,' and more!

Gossip-Girl-Blair_lGot a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Just want to say hi? You can send any/all of the above to ausielloscoop@ew.com

Question: Can you do me a huge favor and give me some Gossip Girl scoop pertaining to Blair-Serena? I’m dying to know if my favorite frenemies will be loving or hating each other this season. —Sally
Ausiello:
They’ll start out loving each other, but by November, the hate is on! What triggers the war? Let’s just say Blair doesn’t follow the bros before hos belief system (or, in this case, hos before bros).

Question: Can you please tell me if there are any good Owen and Cristina scenes in Grey’s Anatomy season premiere? I know they won’t have sex in the episode, but will the tragedy bring them closer? —Iris
Ausiello:
They have a really moving handholding scene. Does that count?

Question: After watching the Grey’s Anatomy premiere can you please tell me anything about Mer-Der? —Erin
Ausiello:
If you were among those fans who thought their Post-It note wedding was some kind of bad joke, there’s a scene at George’s funeral that should put a smile on your face. READ FULL STORY »

Ratings: 'Melrose Place' not as desirable as '90210'

The fall TV season officially kicked off Tuesday night with the second season premiere of 90210 and the series debut of the updated Melrose Place on The CW. While Melrose outperformed previous time slot holder Privileged, its numbers didn’t quite match the hype. The good news: The CW is the one network that will give a show time to fully bloom. The bad news: That means we haven’t heard the last of “Tuesday is the new hump day.”

Ratings: NBC's 'Talent' tops slow week

In the week leading up to the Labor Day holiday weekend, broadcast television ratings were once again dominated by a double-whammy of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. The show took the top two spots for its Tuesday and Wednesday night airings, which drew 12.8 million and 12.4 million viewers respectively, for the week ending Sept. 6. However, the domination of America’s Got Talent shouldn’t last that much longer — the broadcast networks have already begun rolling out their fall slates, although the biggest shows, like those on ABC and CBS, won’t be returning until the week of Sept. 21.

Amid a bevy of repeats of CBS shows that pepper the rest of the Top 20, there were a few other bright spots, including the Tuesday edition of CBS’s Big Brother (No. 7) with 7.8 million viewers; new episodes of Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen and ABC’s Wipeout, which tied at No. 9 with 7.6 million viewers; the CMA Music Festival (No. 11) on ABC with 7.4 million viewers; NBC’s Dateline and Saturday Night Football, which tied at No. 14 with 7.1 million viewers; ABC’s Primetime: Crime and NBC’s America’s Got Talent recap, which tied at No. 16 with 7.0 million viewers; and finally the Thursday edition of CBS’s Big Brother (No. 19), which drew 6.8 million viewers.

The full Top 20 is after the jump.

Team Darlton is on the prowl for a Caucasian actor between the age of 12 and 14 to play…

Teenage Boy: Sporting dirty blond hair and intense searching eyes, he’s wise beyond his years. He finds himself having to deal with a horrible family accident. Recurring.

Doc Jensen’s take: “Dude, I only have one word for you — Sawyer!”

'Melrose Place' ratings snapshot: Disappointing

Categories: Melrose Place

melrose-place-ratings_lIt might be time to speed up those Heather Locklear negotiations. The ratings for last night’s Melrose Place premiere are in and, well, they’re not great. The mega-hyped reboot averaged a disappointing 2.3 million viewers. The show fared slightly better among its core young adult audience, placing second in the 9 pm hour. Also of positive note: Melrose was the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter last night for about an hour! (Hey, you take the wins where you can get ‘em).

The second season premiere of 90210 actually fared better with 2.6 million viewers, its highest viewer tally since last winter.

Did you watch either? Thoughts? (Melrose actually gets a lot better next week. Ditto 90210.)

Scoop: '80s-obsessed 'Psych' hires Judd Nelson

Categories: Psych

I’m kind of loving Psych‘s love of all things ’80s and Brat Packish. The USA comedy has tapped Judd Nelson to guest star in an episode to air this winter. He’ll play a CDC researcher who specializes in a made-up Ebola-like ailment called Thornburg’s disease. In Psych‘s third season finale, Ally Sheedy was outed as the Ying Yang Killer. Who will they recruit next? Demi Moore as Shawn’s quirky aunt older sister? Got a better idea? Post it below!

This just in: 'SNL' all-star Kristin Wiig NOT moving to 'Weekend Update'

Categories: Saturday Night Live

kristin-wiig_lI knew this was too good to be true.

An SNL insider is denying a fast-spreading rumor that Kristin Wiig has been named co-anchor of Weekend Update alongside Seth Meyers. “It’s not true,” says the source. “It’s an Internet-fueled rumor.”

Meyers has been flying solo behind the Weekend Update desk since last fall when Amy Poehler departed for Parks and Recreation.

Here’s a thought: Why not pair Meyers with the brilliant Michaela Watkins? Oh, wait, that’s right — she was fired for some inexplicable reason. (Yep, still bitter.)

Exclusive: ABC plots groundbreaking 'Housewives' spin-off

desperate-housewives_lIt was bound to happen: The increasing depletion of TV ad dollars as a result of digital video recorders has led one network to commit murder.

ABC has recruited Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry to produce a series of eight commercials for Sprint that will unfold as a weekly soap opera. The goal? Pausing the fast-forward phenomenon.

“They’re kind of like the old Taster’s Choice commercials, but we added a lot of wicked dark humor, murder and adultery and betrayal,” explains Cherry of the 35-second spots, which will air once a week during Housewives beginning with the Sept. 27 premiere. READ FULL STORY »
