Breaking: 'Bones' shuts down production

Tags: , News

bones-_lBones has abruptly shut down production due to a possible outbreak of swine flu, the show’s creator, Hart Hanson, announced via Twitter.

“First time in Bones history we are shut down from production,” Hanson tweeted. “Damn swine flu! That’s gonna cut into Christmas hiatus.”

A show spokesperson confirms that among those sidelined is leading man David Boreanaz, although it’s unclear if he actually has the H1N1 bug. “David is out with the flu and the show shut down today since he was in every scene,” says the rep. “We hope to resume production tomorrow.”

Hanson later clarified via Twitter that “there is no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu. We expect him back tomorrow. I’m now going out to get swine flu myself in atonement.”

Get well soon, David (whatever it is that ails you)!

I can imagine that’ll mean scheduling hell for everyone.

Hope David keeps the flu well away from his kids.

    • chattypatra

That’s exactly what came to my mind, Jayme. Keep the kids away from him! I’m sure he’s mortified that production had to be halted because he’s sick. Get well soon, David!

  • Shelly

Poor David! I hope his family is okay.

  • Briana

    David, get well soon!

  • Brooke

    Oh snap.

At first I read the headline and FREAKED THE HECK OUT coz I thought it was cancelled.

This is horrible though. I hope everyone gets better.

Hart Hanson just posted this on Twitter:

Oops! There is no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu.We expect him back tomorrow. I’m now going out to get swine flu myself in atonement.

  • Jen

According to Hart Hanson, David doesn’t have the swine flu. Thankfully..with a new baby in the house, that would be doubly bad.

Hope everyone who is sick feels much better soon! Love the show!

  • Gina

Just a question. Is it just me or does it look like there is something wrong with his mouth this season? The shape looks different.

    • Tim

You’re not the only one that thinks that…Thank God I thought I was going crazy.

    • Cila

I keep thinking that too. There is even something different about the way he talks. Maybe he had some big time dental work done???

  • Jenny

O to the m to the g! David is too pretty and charming to get the swine flu! Whatever it is, get well soon!

  • chris

This is why people need to stop twittering. Throwing out false information at a seconds notice.

    • Hear hear

The swine flu line was probably a joke.

The Swine Flu is the only true Flu bug going around right now according to my Doctor. They aren’t even testing anymore to confirm it, becuase while it is virulent and is definitely an epidemic…it is a much less deadly flu than they thought it would be.

My family is int he midst of a flu right now, which the doctors have told us is probably Swine flu, but they don’t want us to come in becuase it will just spread it further.

Symptoms include, sudden hacking unproductive cough, fever, chills, joint pain and muscle pain, headache in some, not all, and nausea in some, not all. Very Very sore throat!! The good news, If you rest and stay home it passes the worst part in about 2 to 3 days!!!

Get well all the cast and crew of Bones. And just in case,…David…steer clear of your kids!! We love you and wish you well. We are 4 down 2 recovered in our house. It’s ugly and painful, but it’s over quickly!!! Good luck!!!

  • ShutUpRob

Yeesh! Could we please not get reports like this (ie: flu-based shutdowns) until the show has been out of production for five business days? This was too jumpy-of-the-gun-ish.

yeah, i know. one day of shutting down production doesn’t seem like a major deal. a week would be a major deal, though.

      • Allie

especially with david expected to be going back to production the next day. get well soon david!

  • Pete

    Aw, that sucks.

    Get well soon, David!

  • Roberta

no!!!! please make it normal flu!

    • Bob

Yeah because no one ever died from the “normal” flu, right?

  • CONVERTGIRL

WAS THIS THE CHICKEN EPISODE BY CHANCE?

  • Molly

    Get Well Soon!!!
