Michael Weatherly on Tony and Ziva of 'NCIS': a relationship would be like 'Kryptonite'

There’s no mistaking the serious chemistry between Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Officer Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) on NCIS, but fans shouldn’t Read the full post.

All the shippers hoping for a perfect relationship and a Tiva wedding are just setting themselves up for disappointment. If Tony and Ziva had a relationship, it would be an on/off thing, and hopefully they’d have plenty of their traditional bickering and pranks. I’ve liked the Mossad drama, but I’ll be glad when the show features more of the quirky, funny team scenes again.

Ah I hate all this anti-tiva, pro-tiva bashing $hi+!! It sucks!! Why can’t we all just have our own opinion? Me personally, I’d LOVEE Tiva to happen! But I respect that there are people who don’t, including Michael Weatherly! So can we all please just grow up and get over ourselves? The people who are against Tiva obviously have their reasons for believing so, as do the people for Tiva! So don’t go bagging out someone cuz they likee Tiva or cuz they don’t like it! And stop bashing, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo and their characters! And stop tryna merge the world of NCIS and reality! MW is NOT Tony, and CdP is NOT Ziva. So stop sayin harmful things about people you dont noe that well, cause they hav feelings! Be nice, civil, human peeps =)

For the record I’d love a Tiva relationship but I kinda agree with MW. I wouldn’t want it to destroy the show, if i had to pick between NCIS and Tiva, I’d pick NCIS.

I, honestly, love Tiva but I don’t want to see them together. I enjoy watching them bicker and I just love the tension that stands between the two but I don’t think the writers would be stupid enough to have the get together. I think it would ruin the show. And besides, if Tony and Ziva got together, some Tiva fans may not be satisfied with how they got together and the result of it all, and maybe they would lose their love for the pairing.

I am a huge fan of the show and have been since its debut. I have seen characters come and go and have dealt with it because that is how the business works, I guess.

Not a bad article but I don’t see Michael and Cote’s characters hooking up. I see them more as bickering siblings. I see more chemistry between Ziva and Gibbs. I know that she referred to him as “a father figure” so that pretty much dashed my hopes but a girl can dream, right? LOL As for Gibbs rules, his rules are his. They aren’t the NCIS guidelines so he can break his own rules if he chooses to do so.

I find it interesting how the anti Tiva people seem to think that all Tiva fans are teenagers who want the lovey-dovey ‘two kids and a white picket fence’ relationship. I am a Tiva fan and this is certainly not how I feel. The constant bickering and love/hate between Tony and Ziva is what I love and what I want to see. I do agree with MW about not wanting there to be anything too cheesy because that would ruin it.

Also I don’t understand why some people bash Cote because they say in photos and interviews she is always hanging all over MW or acting inappropriate. Most photos I have seen are actual photoshoots where someone likely told them what poses to make/what facial expressions to have so I don’t think anyone was truly being inappropriate.

I would love to explore Tony’s background more. What makes Tony tick. We know he loves his job, he idlizes Gibbs, he’s a pratical joker, he craves attention. On the flip side; he’s easily hurt and once hurt, hard to heal. Very caring, but tries to hide it. Easily loses his temper. All in all Tony D’Nozzo is deep. Many sides to his character. We know all about Ziva, so let’s look into some of the others: McGee, Abby, Ducky, Gibbs, Palmer. They’re all part of the NCIS family, the full Team Gibbs. I LOVE THEM ALL!!!

personally i like tiva and i dont think they would change how they act around each other just because they are datinng they already endlessly flirt or they did if anything it might put things back to the way they were before all the michael/jeanne/drama stuff that went on

  • bnm

    the show would be fine

As much as I would love to see them together….I prefer how they were in about S6. They were constantly flirting and all that jazz. And the bits of jealously when they are dating someone else.

  • Belle0308

Lol!! I think he is being so sarcastic, in this. At least this is what I thought. They would obviously not have a traditional domestic relationship either. Crazy, assasin, ego ridden love affair…that is more like them.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just as the very talent MW has shown us. In my honest opinion, I think a romance would be good in the show. But the way it should be brought in should be subtle. I don’t necessarily mean the whole “will they/ won’t they” thing, but with actions that show they are mutually interesed in each other. However, the show is NCIS, not the Tony/Ziva show. It would make for interesting side stories, and maybe a two part season finale, but the focus should remain on the main story, which is crime solving, not romance.
