The current storyline is so bizzare. How can you have a baby without any physical changes. How can you have a mansion without security alarms on the windows. The writers expect us to go along with plots that are basically just stupid. Now I understand the two year only extension of the show.

  • sylvia

victor is the most important characters on y&r. i will not be watching any more.

  • Dawn

With Eric leaving the show it will not be the same. Great job to Eric! I am curious to see what will be of the show after Eric. Time will tell.

  • sarah

Awww, this is so sad. What about Melody(Nikki). And yes there are more important things in life than soaps but how is my concern over Eric leaving any different than all of the hoopla over Cameron leaving House ? Just because House is primetime it doesn’t make it any different or any more important. JMO =)

LOVE Y&R, I’ve been watching for over 17 yrs now. Victor looks OLD and NASTY! He has more wrinkles on his face than a shar pei puppy!!! And he’s greedy, even say he makes $1000 an episode (we know its way more) who WOULDNT take that kind of money? To properly give back he should actually work the next 2 yrs and donate his salary to charity.

ITS GOING TO BE A GREAT LOST WHEN YOU LET THE MUSTACHE GET AWAY HE IS WHAT MAKE UP THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS AND WITHOUT HIM THE SHOW WILL BE OVER IT WILL SLOWLY DRIFT AWAY AND THEN THERE’LL BE NO MORE SOAPS i’M A TRUE FAN BUT WHEN VICTOR LEAVE i LEAVE ALSO i HAD FUN AND LAUGHS AND i ENJOYED WATCHING THEM BUT NOW IT’S TIME FOR ME TO CLOSE THS CHAPTER ON THIS SOAP NOV. 2 VICTOR LEAVES AND SO DO I BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING I WOULD LIKE TO WATCH WITHOUT HIM IN IT I’LL WATCH HIS NEW SHOW HE WILL PLAY ON THANK YOU AND GOODBYE. YOU’LL ARE MAKING A BIG,BIG MISTAKE BY LETTING VICTOR NEWMAN GO THE SHOW WANT BEW THE SAME AGAIN THINK ABOUT IT THE RATINGS WILL GO WAY DOWN SO RETHINK THIS AND GIVE THE MAN WHAT HE WANT SO HE CAN STAY. THINK ABOUT IT.

    • nikki

      why are you shouting?

  • sarah

UR right Deb, but u would think that if the show were to be on for only 2 more years that they would try to keep their biggest star. Also, good point about CW and late night. There are plenty of shows on primetime, especially cable, that get less viewers but more fanfare and critical acclaim. Also, not all actors on soaps are bad. If anyone has watched Jeanne Copper or Beth Maithland you know what I’m talking about. Also, Susan Lucci did take a paycut but she still had to fight to stay on the show since ABC is moving AMC to LA and she is going to have to fly in but whateva !

It’s hard to imagine Y&R without Victor. Wish they could get rid of the actor who plays Adam rather than Victor leaving.

    • bootsycolumbia

Just write Adam out of the show. And while you’re at it, Y&R writers, get rid of Gloria, Jeffrey, Deacon and Amber. The show will be a hundred times better without them. No–a thousand times better.

  • 227

What a shame! He is a great actor.

  • patti

i will not be watching this show anymore! very sad!!

  • Amber (Newman Fan!)

What the hell!! i can’t take it and I will take Y&R off of my DVR listing!! I love Victor Newman!! The show is over!! It’s Over!! I love Eric Braedon, Melody Thomas scott, Peter Bergman, Josh Morrow, The new Vicky, Heather Thom!! And of course Kay Chancellor, but without the KING of daytime NO THANKS!

  • Joe

You don’t ask Victor Newman to take a pay cut. Idiots.

  • TorontoTom

Publicity stunt !!! Big brouhaha over his leaving and then six months from now… He’ll be back! The company saves the $$$ they wanted him to cut back on and they get a whole of press and attention.

  • Kevin Pleasant

I will no longer watch the show that I have watched my whole life. Period, end of story. No Victor and the show won’t last a year.

  • Cheryl

I don’t love the way that the writers have done to Victor, but by the same token, there is something about all of the characters, over the years, have done to get under my skin. HOWEVER, the fact that they can do an about face is what keeps most of us fans coming back every day. I didn’t like the first Adam & I can’t stand the second Adam even more. Now, that’s someone who should have been let go to compensate everyone else with their salaries.

I’m like a lot of other fans; I’ve been watching this since the 80′s and may not watch it after Eric leaves; think about it, once he’s gone, then what about Melody? She’ll have no story line & fewer appearances, which is probably part of Sony’s new “offer” on her contract.

To those who feel that soap operas are old fashioned, that very well may be, but the fan base is stronger than ever and the networks are making bank, which is never old fashioned.
