I completely agree with Diego. FOX is so lame for doing this to Whedon again.
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!
Not surprising after they put it on Friday nights; but VERY disappointing. Fox just keeps chucking good shows out and keeps the crap stuff on.
It’s always been on Friday nights.
of course fox is going to take them off the air. this is the same network which canceled family guy. how did that work out for them?
Haha What did you all expect its joss whedon of course it failed. That guy is like the poster boy for fail unless its on a 3rd rate network like buffy where abysmal ratings are not only welcome but a step up from the rest of their shows.
Didn’t you know, he’s just a misunderstood genius.
An overrated, misunderstood genius.
Yeah, because only things that have mainstream appeal are good.
Well, I guess I won’t watch Fox in November, or ever again if Dollhouse is cancelled.
I can’t really imagine anything they could do to get me to watch their network again after the way they seem to go to exceptional lengths to annoy and alienate their own customers.
It is mystifying.
I HATE FOX, I HATE HATE HATE FOX. SCREW YOU FOX!
As much as I love Joss and Eliza, I think this show just doesn’t work as well as it should. Very high concept and never properly plotted or explained. It’s just hard to enjoy or understand. They were lucky to get a second season so the inevitable cancellation doesn’t surprise me. They have been better off doing a Faith spinoff.
I’d love to bitch to FOX, but the blame (for me) is on Whedon because this season has been awful. The quality has dropped and he’s losing me as a fan. And I hate to say that because I am such a Buffy/Angel hardcore-to-the-end fan (could never grab onto Firefly) so yeah, I hope for the best, but like they said “ratings miracle” would be needed, and for a Friday night show, it’s not gonna happen. Sayonara Dollhouse!
Sigh. Damn you Fox. There goes Dollhouse…and I was starting to love it so much too. Now I just have to wait for the other shoe to drop, and I’ll be done with Fox.
I don’t understand how pulling it will help anyone. Repeats won’t get them better numbers nor will it promote Dollhouse. Fox baffles me yet again.
Because even during sweeps, ratings probably wouldn’t have pciked up much?
They’ll put something else in its timeslot.
Why is it that Fox always axes the good stuff.
Because they hate intellgence.
Sorry, *intelligence.
LOLSPELLCHECK
Oh hey, what’s that sound? Just me dying a little inside. I have no faith in you anymore Fox. Pun intended. This sucks so bad…I’ve never gotten this attached to a show and had it pulled so early.
Knife through my heart Fox, knife through my heart.
Of course this sucks but it is not really the fault of the network. As usual the blame is all on the public. Stop watching such bad television and give ratings to good tv like Dollhouse, The Office, 30 Rock, Dexter, Resue Me, Fringe, Sarah Silverman, etc. People have such bad taste that networks have little choice but to get rid of quality tv. they are not interested in quality and rightly so, they are interested in what makes big profits. Spend less time with American Idol and dancing shows and then maybe we can keep good shows around for the long term.
Sorry, but that’s just dumb. Just because a show is reality, that doesn’t make it bad automatically (think the Amazing Race or SYTYCD). And just because a show it not a crime procedural or legal or hospital based show does not make it automatically bad.
Er, meant to say “And just because a show it not a crime procedural or legal or hospital based show does not make it automatically good or worth watching.”
The problem with the cops/legal/hospital shows is that they’re tired genres. NYPD Blue was the definitive cop show. There really shouldn’t be anymore after that. Did we really need twelve seasons of ER? Do we need any more Law & Order clones now that you can practically watch that 24/7 on cable?
They’re not tired, you can still get some good quality shows of that type…of course, the audience won’t always be there (RIP, Southland!).
