'Grey's' scoop: 'Shark' actress lands meaty role

Danielle-Panabaker_lDanielle Panabaker, best known for her role as James Woods’ daughter on CBS’ Shark, is checking into Grey’s Anatomy next month.

The actress will play a patient under the care of Cristina and Jackson in the Nov. 19 episode. “It’s a really sweet, heartbreaking story,” says a Grey’s insider.

In the same episode, The Wire‘s Frankie Faison will appear as Bailey’s father, Bill.

Cool, I like her. but I guess this means Jackson is staying. Sigh. If he grows a personality, I’ll be fine with that. He’s good looking and Hunt seems to think he’s a good doctor. Other than that, he’s the biggest wet blanket of the newbies.

Damn. I was hoping it was Sarah Carter, so it would mean she wasn’t on CSI NY anymore.

    • Erin

      Ha me too!

I don’t watch soap operas and I never watched Shark but the actress was great in Sky High.

She was with Ellen Pompeo last year on the Obama tour in colleges and universities. loved them together.. :)

Seriously. Bill? Bill Bailey? As in Won’t you come home?

    • Jonah

I know. Out of all the names they could’ve picked, they pick Bill. Stupid.

Her sister Kay was in an episode last year – where one sister died and the other one lived – I wonder if she is playing the same girl just older now or a completely new character???

That would be cool if they were connected in the show’s storyline, like cousins or something.

i could’ve sworn she was already on grey’s. good eye, Lauren!
she better be the same character otherwise that’s just shoddy casting on grey’s part.

no no no, she’s never been on the show john. her little sister was, so she can play any character she wants

You mean she isn’t best known for her work in the Lifetime original movie “Sex and the Single Mom”? :)

One of my faves. Grant Snow and whatserface were so hot. Didn’t particularly care for the SATSM2.

I loved the episode with Kay, Danielle’s sister, which aired a few days ago on Lifetime. Both of them are immensely talented actresses. I was hoping that I would see her in something actually good after her role in the last Friday the 13th film earlier this year. She’s one of my favorite young actors and I’m happy that she finally got a part on one of the best shows on t.v. She deserves it! I can’t wait to tune in and watch!

Is Danielle Panabakers’ role on Shark really what she is BEST known for? Just asking.

  • CK

Hey, I really like Danielle Panabaker. Been wondering what happened to her after Shark. Just wish her role was more permanent. And where is Sarah Carter now? She’s beautiful. Wouldn’t mind seeing her again.

  • LostinDharma

Sorry but I thought when I read that, I thought the actress would be Jeri Ryan so a little disappointed by who it was really. By the way, Danielle was also in the Friday The 13th remake, Mike. I thought you would mention it. Did you forget or just haven’t seen the remake yet? You rock Mike
