Perfectly fine with me. D’Onofrio’s quirky antics were fun to watch early on, but now he just appears to be sleepwalking through the role.
Goldblum finally brought some LIFE and energy back to the show, and I can’t wait to see him full-time.

Just like he brought Raines to life, however briefly?

It is clear that USA is determined to destroy a once compelling and intelligent show. Removing Goren (around whom the show was originally written) and Eames (world’s best partner) and Ross (a captain who earned my respect after taking over from popular and likable Deakins), and moving the direction of the show to “lighter” fare shows nothing but contempt for the fans who made this one of the most popular shows on cable. THIS fan won’t stick around to watch the disaster that will be left.

I like Goldblum, but I REALLY have always loved Kathyrn Erbe, who did everything she could with the pittance of a role she was given.

    • Emma

I couldn’t agree more. Erbe did a great job with whatever they threw at her (which wasn’t much or often) and she worked great with either of the male detectives. I really wish she would have stayed.

      • Leslie

        Hear, hear.

  • Alex

This is a total mistake on the networks part. Criminal Intent wont last a season without D’onofrio and Erbe.

They should have given the show some respect and just ended when Goren and Eames left. Im leaving when D’onofrio and Erbe do.

I’ll almost feel a tab bit of satisfaction when the shows axed or cancelled.

I don’t get it – I’m worried that this might be the last year of the mothership, so I’m hoping the retooling of CI might mean a couple of more years, but I’ll miss Erbe, D’onofrio and Bagosian.

  • craig

I know D’Onofrio qouit on his own, but what about Erbe and Bogosian did they quit or were they fired?

    • craig

      *quit..stupid typo!

      • Kate

A couple of articles have said that Erbe was ‘less than happy’ about a couple of the networks decisions. But apart from that, Erbe hasnt released any statements or anything.

  • Kate

Good on the networks for screwing up another perfectly good show. D’onofrio and Erbe made this show. With them leaving there will be nothing to return to.

For me, this show will end with Goren and Eames. Not a thing in the world could make me watch it without them. They should have just ended the show with D’onofrio and Erbe.

Without them, the show is going to sink faster than the Titanic.

All versions of L&O are known for their revolving doors of cops and lawyers, but to replace four of the five main characters in one season is not a revolving door… it’s a disaster! Dick Wolf may have overplayed his hand on this one which is too bad for my fave of all the L&Os.

    • Angie

Really, well then, when are they replacing the leads on SVU???

      • RJ

HA! Good one. Believe me, if there was ever an L&O show that needed a change it’s SVU!!

  • Tully

I miss D’Onofrio and Erbe but I guess they want to do something else after so many years. I don’t feel Jeff Goldblum is right for the show. Saffron Burrows? M.E. Mastrantonio? We’ll have to see.

  • Greg Andrew

Geez, what is USA supposed to do, hold D’Onofrio hostage to keep him on the show?. It’s a miracle the actor stayed this long; he is not one that has ever let grass grow under his feet. Its certainly true that the shows change their cast often, but they’ve had to – heck, Law & Order would probably have been canceled after 3 seasons if he hadn’t agreed to make such changes – but half of the changes on the L&O shows are the result of actors wanting out. Face it, aside from the two leads on SVU and the male lead on CI, L&O shows aren’t great showcases for actors. (SVU, by the way, wasn’t developed as a Law & Order spinoff; it got linked to the L&O franchise rather late in the same to attract more views to try it)

    • Angie

Sorry Greg, But D’Onofrio got FIRED!! He did not want to leave.

      • Sue

You’re right Angie. I’ve read on other sites that he Did Not quit.

  • Donna

This is really too much. I like MEM, but can’t see her in this role. It’s obvious that she, along with Burrows, were chosen for their looks. Here come the tight, sexy power suits.

  • ahwnee

People need to move on. Goren and Eames have been on this show forever i will cont to watch beacaise even though jeff goldblum isnt D’Onofrio he is an awesomme assett. Home tim curry gets to be a guest on soon

  • kirads09

Quote: “No Goren, Eames, or Ross = No Me! USA Network has murdered LOCI !!”

    Exactly how I feel, Susan.

  • Cricket

    I’m done.

  • terryd56

Without Vincent D’Onofrio the show will not make it. I love him and Kathryn Erbe together. Once he goes I will go too. I only watch the show now when he is on. What are they thinking? Change is good BUT NOT THIS CHANGE!!!
