Exclusive: Blair Underwood returns to 'Old Christine'

blair-underwood_lI see an Eric McCormack-Blair Underwood slugfest in The New Adventures of Old Christine‘s future.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Underwood has signed on to reprise his role as Christine’s former flame, Daniel (or as he’s referred to by his students, Mr. Harris) for one episode.

My educated guess? Underwood is being brought in to cause some trouble between Christine and her current beau, Max (played by McCormack). But I could be wrong. Doubtful though. I’m feeling pretty good about this one.

Underwood’s comeback is slated to air in January.

LOOOVE Mr. Harris and Christine. Bring him back as a series regular!

    • Yogurt

      Relax Joanna.

    • Penelope Peppa

Agreed to the 100th power!! Regular character!

  • graeme

That’s fun. JLD and Underwood were great together.

  • Kate

Oh I want more than one episode with Mr. Harris! I looove the dynamic with he and Christine. Cracks me up. And Blair Underwood is HOT.

  • bondfool

I liked him, but I feel like his character might not fit the show anymore. He’s more realistic, and the show has gotten broader since his last appearance.

  • harry

    YESSSSSS!!!!

  • Belle

Would love to see him on Grey’s Anatomy! Doesn’t Seattle Grace need a top notch heart surgeon? Burke is gone and Erica Hahan left too. Derek needs someone on his level who has the god complex.

    • Yogurt

Token black quota is already filled at Seattle Grace.

      • Mia

You are an IDIOT! A total JackAss!
It had NOTHING to do with race you moron.

  • Cincy

    Broader? I’ll say. It’s like a cartoon!

  • sharon

Blair Underwood! Bringing all the HOT he’s got! Whoo!

  • Dave

I’m so excited to see him coming back! He was a great character and his dynamic with Julia Louis-Dreyfus was wonderful and organic.

    Great news!

    • Yogurt

      Organic?

You must be a real hit at bridge parties.

      • Dave

I think organic is a great word to describe their interaction – it really felt like effortless acting on their parts; like they were really enjoying each other.

I would definitely describe that as ‘organic’

  • Reneenix

YEAH!!! I really hated that they broke up. Love Blair!!

  • Amy Y

    LOL…Yoghurt, you crack me up.

    • sheba shayne

Amy Y, If a troll “cracks you up” you might want to elevate your sense of humor.
Yay to Mr. Underwood’s return-great, underrated actor.

  • laylagalise

    Yay!

  • Mandy

Whenever I see the name Blair Underwood, I think it’s someone from Gossip Girl.

  • Marci

I love Blair Underwood and Mr. Harris, but can’t stand Christine. What would a hot guy like him see in a raging narcissist like her. If it weren’t for Barb and Matthew, I wouldn’t even be watching that stupid show.

  • Jeri

Christine’s raging narcissison is the whole point of the show!
