In what has become something of an annual tradition, Private Practice‘s Kate Walsh is heading back to Grey’s Anatomy in early January to play a key role in a top-secret crossover event involving Addison, Mark, and that blond chick from Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. Want to know more? Then keep reading. Everyone else, make a mad, tramplin’ dash for the nearest exit!
Okay, here’s the sitch: In the Grey’s half of the crossover, Mark summons Addison to Seattle Grace to perform a surgery on TBCFTSCC (a.k.a. Leven Rambin). The storyline spills over into Private when, according to exec producer Shonda Rhimes, “complications arise and Mark ends up taking [her] back down to Los Angeles to get more surgery.”
What’s Mark’s connection to TBCFTSCC? Will sparks fly between lovers-turned-friends Addison and Mark? And what impact does this crisis have on “Mexie”? Answers to all those questions (as well as a few others) can be found in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, on sale tomorrow. Come on, don’t make that face. You know you love it when I shamelessly cross-promote.

Lovely! I love these two together, cannot wait to see the episodes.
When you crossover this much, it ceases to be an “event.”
These things are becoming ridiculous. They’re ALL doctors. They WORK with doctors. They’re surrounded by them. There’s no need to snag a doctor from 3 states away to care for a patient.
There is if that patient needs the best doctor in a particular field.
It’s not realistic at all. Whose insurance company that you know of will pay to either ship a doctor or a patient out of state for treatment? Failing that, how many patients can foot the bill themselves if it’s not covered? This is medical fantasy land stuff.
You are correct. I actually know of a child fighting a horrible disease who has Kaiser insurance in California, was flown back east to see a non-Kaiser specialist there, and has now been moved to Seattle for treatement with another non-Kaiser specialist. And this is all being covered under their Kaiser insurance. So, it is possible, depending on the severity of the illness.
I SOOOO agree. There are experts in the surgical fields in both Washington and California. Zero need for these doctors to be doing this or tot be traveling for surgeries supposedly on they can do. Simply ridiculous. Each crossover gets more stupid, more trumped up and more unneeded than the last. And that doesn’t reflect that baldy on GA other than bloating a cast already over bloated. It effects however reflect badly on PrP. With each one of these PrP seems more and more desperate for GA’s attention. Like PrP is GA’s red headed stepchild. These gimmicks need to stop-stop like 3 crossovers ago already.
Since when is Washington three states away from California. I’m not even American and I know they share a border.
Wait axe that. OREGON.
Y’know, I have to say, I think I might be getting a little tired of all these crossovers. Are they really necessary? Private Practice has been really good lately and has been able to stand on its own. Are they really that badly needing ratings?
I love Mark and Lexie. Hope all this crossover BS is just a ploy to get us to watch Private Practice, and not spelling trouble for Mark/Lexie.
could not agree more. if they screw up mark and lexie, especially with an ex like addison, i will finally be able to drop the show and watch something else instead. i’m happy to stick with it as long as they’re together.
Get a grip – it’s just TV show, so stop watching. I’m going to. The whole show has turned ridiculous: So many characters, no one gets enough story time. Mark and Lexie – puhlease!!! You like a graying old manwhoe with a young woman? Hmmm…
It’s almost admirable how hard they try to get people to watch Private Practice. But they need to just face it, that show sucks.
Its got much, much better I started watching from season 3 properly because of the baby storyline and Bailey’s crossover ep was just as good as any Grey’s Anatomy ep!
Yeah it has gotten much better since I last watched it early in season 2.
Yeah it’s much better since I last saw it early in season 2.
Cool with me, but they are that desperate to get PP some viewers.
As long as Mark/Lexie don’t get complicated, it’s okay. Love them.
I swear. If this Terminator chick ruins McSteamy and Lexie, I’ll be POed. Rumors about her is not good already. Not expecting to feel sorry for her.
AGREED. I’ll be pissed if Addison or this new girl are reasons as to why Mark Lexie break up.
I think that there are better ways. Storylines that haven’t been used throughout the Grey’s arcs yet.
I think the drama will have more to do with the girl rather than Addison/Mark being more than friends, but gosh, the possibility could potentially still be there. But then I think, he’s on Grey’s and she’s on Private. Oh, and I really adore Mark and Lexie. I hope they overcome this hurdle, whatever that may be.
I always get bummed after reading the comments. I think if i want to keep my excitement i gotta stop……. Yeah, i’m done with peoples comments
i’m so excited for this. i have always loved Addison and Mark, more than i like Mark and Lexie. and the crossovers are awesome, seeing that i love both shows.
I’m with you: I’m not a fan of Mark and Lexie, but really thought Addison and Mark had potential.
.. The only reason Private Practice gets 10 million viewers (6 million short of the regular Grey’s Anatomy viewer count) is just because its scheduled right after Grey’s Anatomy. I hate the crossovers. I don’t like Addison, maybe that’s why.
And as for Leven Rambin; yeah, whatever about her. She tweets and she annoys me already. All I can say is that if she IS a lovechild then the writers haven’t thought this throught.
Grey’s ratings are closer to 13 mln recently than 16.
But whatever. I also don’t like Addison, also don’t want any more crossovers, the only difference is that I’m a Private Practice fan, not Grey’s.
It seems that fans of both shows are not that happy with all those crossovers, so what’s the point in doing them?
Actually, it may have been varying, but it’s been closer to 15 million every other episode. World Series can be to
Blame.
The point is they boost ratings for both shows. PP has the Addison/Greys connection to thank for still being on the air.
you’re right they haven’t, because I seem to remember there was an episode either last season or the season before when addison was on, that she told Mark that she was pregnant with their child, and either had an abortion, or miscarried, and it was while she was still married to Derek, and that was why she couldn’t get back together with him. Mark was crushed, so if GA and PP make this character Addison and Mark’s love child, both shows will have a lot of explaining to do, considering in season 1 of PP, Naomi told Addison that she have basically no chance of having children. If she knew that there was a child of hers out there, she would have went looking for it after that news.
I’m not going to ‘freak out’ like the rest of the Grey’s fandom, so I’m just going to wish that my Mexie/McSexie couple does not get separated. They’re my freaking favorite.
I love Addison but the crossovers are getting quite old. The last time she was on GA, I couldn’t stand her. Why not instead bring Sam and his newly found love for Cardio to SGH/MW? That’d be something good.
ahhh in with everyone else, Addison better not come in between Mark and Lexie, but I’m doubting that. I’m sort of thinking it’s Jackson, or the girl from Terminator – whoever she is from Mark’s past.
THOUGH, I would love to see Jackson on Lexie.
LOL I SECOND YOUR LAST STATEMENT.
Jackson and Lexie. And a jealous Mark?
That’s a storyline I want to see!
I’m tired of all those crossovers, really. Maybe it was fun the first time, not so much the 2nd time, but now it’s ridiculous.
I don’t watch Grey’s, Private Practice is really good this season, both shows have good ratings, so why do they need another crossover?
Unless they are going to show us Mark & Pete having sex together. Now, that is a crossover I would love to watch. LOL
