It really was a well-conceived show. (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER Like, the big reveal about Whiskey and Alpha SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER) I still think Eliza Dushku is Nielsen poison. Or Fox doesn’t understand how to market television shows.
I think Fox should have a throwaway budget dedicated to putting out television programming comparable in quality to such shows as Mad Men and True Blood, which I feel Dollhouse was (the only other Fox show I could say is this high of quality right now is Glee). That way even if a program is doing poor in the ratings they can have enough faith in the program to keep it going and depending on future Blu-ray and digital sales to pay off in the long run.
I think more people posted on this then watched the show.
So goes another good show into the afterlife. It’s like everything good on can’t keep its place because of budget problems. So fine, FOX and ABC and all the rest cancel the decent shows on so you can fill the slots with more reality crap. Someone’s gonna get a foot in the behind if I see The Biggest Supernanny Idol in the Dollhouse time slot!
Of course FOX canceled it – it’s what the morons always do to Joss because he’s way too good to be on a network where the top show is American Idiot. There’s hundreds of cable channels – can’t we just give JW his own channel?
I enjoyed this show, and I will be sorry to see it go. The lesson here for producers is that unless your show is a cartoon or a reality show, avoid Fox like the plague. I won’t bother getting involved in any show on their network in the future. Hopefully Joss has an opportunity to put some closure to the story lines before it signs off.
when the first started talking about the show being canned that’s what was said he was doing was providing closure so that will be nice instead of being ripped off the air in the middle of things before it could.
i really liked this show. i honestly don’t get why others did not. yes there was a few episodes that have not been all that great but you get that with ALL shows. for the most part they all rock. you will be missed dollhouse.
Thanks for the defacation , FOX . What’s next ? FRiNGE ?
Personally I think when the show bags not only rich people but also well connected/powerful people there will be trouble. I’m neither by any means but If I were, this show would offend me. Low morals are associated with the rich/connect/powerful. The very people who can get something down when they want it done. Only takes one well placed disgruntled person to put a good spanner in the works. I’d like to add that my comment isn’t reflecting how I feel about such people. But it seems to me you don’t bite the hand that feeds you… Sad to see it go. I enjoyed all I’ve seen of it. Sick of shows getting axed. One reason I refuse to buy pay TV.
If anyone feels that if more of us should pay for the service so less shows get axed I disagree. I feel that it’s up to the companies (such as FOX) to demonstrate to me some consistency before I sign up. I don’t trust them to get it right later after I’ve signed up. As things are I don’t trust them to not axe the next show I like, why would I pay for that?
im really upset about fox canceling the show and to think they have commercials now telling us to call a number there because apparently cable wants to cut fox or something i say nayyyy to that fox really pissed me off with this dollhouse is an amazing show the only show i can never predict..its sad tho because i dont even think joss would continue on from what i’ve heard =/ it kind of would be hard to continue since they some what made it to the end already
Stop canceling all the good shows, and think about all the other crap you air FOX.
Why is this show being cancelled. I still watch reruns of Tru Calling. Also love Dollhouse. I like the fact that she brought in other actors she worked with in Buffy and Angel. She is a great actress and I hope to see more of her. Wish Dollhouse and Tru calling would come back.
I have nothing less than hatred for Fox. “Dollhouse” was the best show on TV. I really hate Fox.
I hoped Joss Whedon would take the show to SyFy, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Did i mention how much i hate Fox ? Here’s hoping Wheden has enough sense to NEVER take another show to Fox. Like..don’t even pitch to them.
I hate Fox. I really do.
Oh well atleast this show gets a happy ending/closure unlike his buffy/angel shows..
