I think that Taylor Swift is talented as a song writer but her singing is not that great! The fact she won over other fantastic artist that can sing is a total disappointment to me and hundreds of thousands of fans; Teenagers who haven’t ever listened to country music where aloud to vote and shouldn’t have. Country music is a legacy and Taylor is far from that. Rascal Flatts setting on a back row the CMA’s should be ashamed not only for that but for the whole situation and Taylor winning when she shouldn’t have. Miranda, Reba, Carrie and Martina are high quality compared to Taylor.

I think Carrie Underwood’s performance of the song where she was dressed like a hooker was terrible. It looked like she was a strip dancer. How does anyone think that is country. The true country singers probably had a heart attack seeing that.

I recall hearing a couple of other sour notes from some of the other performers. Those of you griping, why do you bother to watch if you already don’t like country music. There are sooo many others that can write and can’t sing, Willie Nelson comes to mind. But he’s Willie! Ever hear Bob Seeger?

Okay so just wait before people start with Taylor is bringing bigger audience to country

This is a half hour breakdown of rantings of the CMAs
    CMA Awards (ABC)
    8:00 p.m.: 9.7 rating/16 share (#1)
    8:30 p.m.: 9.7/15 (#1)
    9:00 p.m.: 10.1/16 (#1)
    9:30 p.m.: 9.6/15 (#1)
    10:00 p.m.: 9.2/15 (#1t)
    10:30 p.m.: 9.0/15 (#2)

As you can see, ratings started slipping after the 10, around the time when Taylor won female vocalist. It was the lowest when Swift won Entertainer.

The biggest ratings came in during the 9 to 9:30 slot when Carrie Underwood performed. Another high point came when Daughtry performed. It also remained high throughout the time when the hosts were more lively. So this was basically Brad and Carrie’s win more than anybody else’s.

In the past few years I have come to like the CMAs better than any other award show – and I rarely buy country music. Don’t quite know what’s up with this, except that it is just more entertaining. Last on the list??? The Academy Awards. (yawn)
