'House' exclusive: Jennifer Morrison speaks out about departure

Tags: , News

It’s fitting that Jennifer Morrison’s first comments concerning her departure from House would come on the same night that Cameron bid adieu to Princeton-Plainsboro. Read the full post.

It’s terrible that she’s gone but it did fit with the story line. Hopefully it won’t be forever and they can bring her back in some capacity, but things run their course and she’s talented so she’ll find something equally as great.

Poor Jennifer :( I don’t want Cameron to leave, she helped make the show what it was and it was so much better when she had storylines. I am going to miss you Jen :( You did an amazing job on House

Very professional and yes she’ll be back when the story calls for it. Her fans should use her as a role model because she’s definitely a class act.

I think Cameron was written out of the show because the writers thought that they had taken the character as far as they could for the time being. She married Chase, so no more sexual tension with House. And there really wasn’t anywhere else to take her in her job. What were their options — put her back on House’s team? Why re-run that scenario? So they decided to split up Cameron and Chase and give Chase a potentially interesting storyline in which he has to deal with both the loss of his ethics and his wife.
As far as 13 goes, I guess I’m the only one who thinks she has potential as a character. I think the writers have been holding back while they resolve the Chase/Cameron storyline and the departure of Kutner. With the show back to a smaller cast I think we might see a more interesting storyline develop for 13.

I disagree, I think she was written out of the show because Cameron is still a far more popular character than Thirteen and Shore wanted to get rid of the competition both for Thirteen and Huddy.

Thirteen has had more screen time in the last two seasons than Chase or Cameron had over 6 and people still don’t like her.

Instead of better writing, Shore took the easy way out. What a coward.

        THIS.

Cameron never was competition for ‘Huddy’. Not back in Season 1 and 2 when she had a crush on him and failed at playing hard-to-get, and so not when she married Chase–finalizing the death of the non-relationship between House and Cameron.

Gosh, I love her! And I keep asking myself, why they are doing this to her. I was hoping that it might have been her choice, it would have been easier to take – but this makes it even harder. I hope TPTB wake up soon and realize their mistake! Let me know when she’s back, until then no House for me, Huddy and Boreteen give me the creeps.

  • Kath

She deserved a far better exit than what she got tonight. All to bring back 13 I feel!! After 6 yrs the show now offically is done for me!

  • wings

will they finally update the opening sequence?

    • Courtney

No, because the *stupid* producers are keeping her on payroll for the season, which would technically mean, so I’ve read, that she has to appear in at least half of the episodes of the season.

  • Sarrie

Neither Jennifer not her fans deserved such an attitude from the execs and writers.
Jen has always been supporting the show, her colleagues and producers, even now when they literally threw Cameron away, even after the whole “she might be back, we don’t know yet, the plot line dictated this” – after everything she remains classy and gracious, she praises the producers and the show. How come that a very talented (if anyone had doubts – check her final scene with House and see what incredibly deep and moving acting means) actress was written off?
I’m deeply upset by this decision.

  • koker

i really hope they bring her back in some sort of a surprising twist. She remains the only (alive) female character I like on House. I don’t know if I will keep watching for much longer.

    • Keir

During her speech to House I started to wonder if she will end up with a spin-off like was talked about for Lucas Douglas. She could get a position in Diagnostics at another hospital and try her own more empathetic approach with her patients and her team. I don’t know how fun it would be without the edge though.

      • Emma

That would be great! I’d definitely watch it even if i don’t really like medical drama!

        I love jen!

House used to be my fav show but when Chase and Cameron’s characters were diminished to almost nothing, I stopped watching. I hated to see 13 and all these new interns replacing them for no reason. If they had just stayed with the trio of Foreman, Chase, and Cameron together- it would’ve been just fine. I don’t know why they did all this shake-up. I’m surprised that Jennifer didn’t leave on her own much earlier.

  • jj

Goodbye Cameron, please don’t come back.

  • Jennifer

She has to come back since she (and admittedly Wilson) are the only two that care about House’s moral lookout. While she can be at times sanctimonious ahe remains a grounding stone to House’s balance. Who is he going to have ethic and moral quanderies about. I have always enjoyed J. Morrison’s character and it would be a real loss and shame if she were to leave for ever. After an appropriate time things may even rekindel between her and House.

  • Courtney

Jennifer deserves so much more than that horrible storyline she was given. I have always supported her, but over these last few weeks, and especially right now, I love her more than ever. She’s always been so supportive of the show, even in the season 4 bonus features, a season she had barely been in. I can not say in full honesty that I would be sush a class act if I had been written off a show like that. The producers of House need to get their heads out of their Huddy-filled fanatsy (and, yes, I say this as a Huddy fan, but I’ve always loved Chameron more) and realize that Jennifer was an enormous part of their show, and that nothing will fill the void that she left until they bring her back. And get her and Chase back together.

  • DB

    WOW….It’s just television.

  • TeRRy

They should have droped Foreman instead
