FF definitely has its flaws (Joseph and The Amazing Wrinkled Brow of Angst, its unbearably slow pace, the constant dropping of plot lines, I could go on all day), but at the same time, it also has done some interesting toying with the fated-or-free concept, and some of the characters are actually pretty well-developed and compelling; honestly, Demetri Noh/John Cho’s ability to out-act pretty much everyone else on the show is my primary reason for watching. I feel like FF can go one of two ways: downhill, meaning that it gets more and more convoluted, slow-paced, and bogged down with too many characters and arcs, or it will tighten up the plots, put the focus on the more interesting characters (cough*NOT MARK AND HIS FURROWED FOREHEAD OF WOE*cough), and in general Grow the Beard if you’d pardon the TVTropes parlance. Personally, I’m hoping for the latter.

Even if it could be way better, I still enjoy the show. The writting needs to improve, so I’m glad ABC’s given them the time for it!
I think it’s the best new drama on ABC, V was such a disapointement to me.

I really enjoy this show and especially Joseph Fiennes, though the production trouble has me a little worried. However, I’m having lots of trouble getting into V. I mainly watched for Joel Gretsch (I’m sorry, I keep trying to like Elizabeth Mitchell and I’m sure she’s a lovely person, but I can’t seem to care that much about the characters she’s played), and much as I like Joel’s part – the dilemma of the priest’s position – I’m not sure it’s enough to come back to next spring. – I wish ABC had kept Eastwick.

The writing is so bad it’s hilarious sometimes. Like when they expressed surprise that someone other than the FBI was investigating the blackouts. Uh, every law enforcement and intelligence agency in the US and around the world would be investigating it.

    • DT

Exactly. It’s a worldwide event, right? Also, why aren’t scientists the main ones handling this? Why the L.A. branch of the FBI?

BTW: Ralph Fiennes is actually the talented one.

I have the last 5 episodes waiting to be watched on the DVR. Should I just go ahead and delete them?

    • Cadence

Jen, never let other people’s opinions dictate your actions.

    It’s a joke,yeah?
I really love this show! And i like this dynamics, characters and their stories…
What i can do, if I don’t want to watch “V”?
FF it’s not sci-fy actually, it’s a drama. And I want to see it more.

  • Paula

2 words Christine Woods…that is the reason i watch the show..

  • mgb

At least Joseph Fiennes isn’t boring to watch, unlike most of the other actors on the show. I start nodding off every time his “wife” appears on screen.

  • Justin

The pilot was good, but I’ve found it hard to get past the subpar acting and the way each episode ends in a ridiculous twist that isn’t touched on in the next episode.

I wanted to love this show. I really did. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get into it. The story moved too slowly (and nonsensically: why are they validating the FFs rather than trying to prevent them? The Nazi guy storyline in particular irked me) for me and I never felt a connection with/grew attached to any characters.
I gave up on the show a number of episodes ago. If I hear from enough people that it has improved, I might watch it on DVD when it comes out.

  • GG

Oh,no! What I will do without Jack Davenport on my screen? :(

  • Big D

This item sent a chill down my spine. I love this show and want, nay, need for it to continue.

  • Mon

I like FF. I mean Charlie and Penny from Lost are on it, so that’s awesome. Fiennes’ overacting is annoying at times, how did he get into all those Oscar nominated films??

    • DT

His last name is Fiennes and he rode his older bro’s coattails into the biz.

  • Jesse

I enjoy this show very much, but I’m not sure if it is just from curiosity of what happened with the blackout. If they don’t give some answers soon, I’ll stop tuning in. Take a look at how LOST does it, answer some questions but pose more questions to keep the storyline intriguing and the viewer interested.

  • Todd

I’m trusting that the writers are seeding things that will payoff later, but InchForward, oops I mean FlashForward, is quickly leading to the land of not-worthy-of-my-DVR-space.
