'Supernatural' scoop: 100th episode will be heavy on mythology

Time flies when you’re battling demons and preventing apocalypses and stuff. Case in point: Supernatural will celebrate its milestone 100th episode this spring with an hour that focuses largely on Dean (Jensen Ackles).

“We’re aiming for it to be a big mythology episode,” reveals Supernatural boss Eric Kripke, adding that, “The Archangel Michael plays a very large part as we explore his relationship with Dean.”

But what form will Arch Mike take? The comments section is currently accepting your predictions…

    Adam Lambert

    • Daniel

      LMAO, THIS.

    • melanie

YEAH, it HAS to be Adam Lambert or no form at all! ;D

    • Heather

      This? Is hilarious.

    • gingerbreadmama

OMG! Adam Lambert is the best answer ever! How funny! They already had Paris Hilton on, so why not?

      • Mousitsa

um, because, that episode proved that stunt casting doesn’t really work? and maybe if you want your story to be taken seriously, then the casting has to be serious as well? oh, and did we forget that SPN is a drama, and that such stunts were best left for Reaper instead? **shrugs** just sayin’…

      • Wil

@Mousitsa: Obviously you weren’t paying attention for that episode. They got Paris Hilton on so that she could make fun of herself and all those idiotic people that idolize her. It was an obvious satire and if you didn’t get it, that’s your loss. I thought it was brilliant.

      • Mousitsa

@Wil — No, don’t worry, I got it. I pay more attention to ALL the episodes than you could ever imagine. And the episode turned out quite well given what it had to work with. But if SPN wants another episode to bring in the lowest ratings to date despite the stunt casting, then by all means, they should go for it **grin**

    • mellow

      bwahaha! Brilliant.

    • Star

LMAO! I’d actually love to see that. :D

    • biane

      LMAO

    • Em

Nothing would be as great as Adam Lambert. You’ve RUINED it for me!

    • jenn

      Adam as sparkly angel=win

      but it won’t happen

  • Rodrigo Spotorno

    Bobby!

  • Jackie

I think Michael will take on the form of John Winchester. These angels seem to be pretty manipulative, and the only way they can find the boys is in their sleep, courtesy of the symbols Castiel carved into their ribs. When Lucifer was trying to manipulate Sam into saying yes, he took on Jessica’s form, figuring that she was who he loved the most. In Dean’s case, I would think that Michael would take on John’s form. Plus, Kripke did say that if scheduling could be worked out, they would like to have Jeffrey Dean Morgan back.

    • Jackie

Sorry, I meant to say that since the angels can only find the boys in their dreams, they can project whatever form they want.

    • Chris

While I would LOVE to see JDM back on the show again, I just don’t think it will happen. But this would be a great opportunity and would make things very interesting!

    • Amber

Yes, I totally agree with you Jackie! Dean has never been able to say no to his dad and John would be perfect.
I did hear a rumor that possibly Jeffery Dean Morgan would be coming in the form of God, but again that was a total rumor!

    • Ty

Yes I agree that having JDM back on the show would be awesome but I don’t think it will happen either. Kripke has always hinted that it could and then it doesn’t. I mean they even had a perfect opportunity when they were on the mock Grey’s Anatomy show JDM’s other vehicle. But then maybe they were building for a better comeback….

    • Em

OK, yes, this would be perfect. Better than Adam.

    • Francie

I think that your guess is really good and it makes sense because Dean always listened obediently to his father and it would be so hard for him to turn him down. Good job, Jackie!

    • Mo

Actually, i’m thinking John has something to do with being God. You know how Gabriel said that Sam and Dean are brothers and are exactly like Michael and Lucifer? Well, what if their father was God? I’m just saying…could be a possibility…

      • SPN Fan

I would say Mary if they are suppose to be like Michael and Lucifer. Mary was the hunter and John never knew anything about it until her, so if it’s a bloodline thing it would have to be Mary to make sense. However, it would be nice to see JDM back for any part in it.

  • tvgirl48

I’m happy it’s going to be focusing on the mythology. As fun as some recent episodes have been, I like them to connect to the bigger plot at hand. And I think it’s smart to put it in Jensen’s hands because, honestly, the Dean-centric episodes are always the best. “The End,” “What is and What Should Never Be,” etc.

  • sally

maybe it’s gonna be a shocker and be John or Mary Winchester!;P

  • Meg

    Danneel Harris

    • Elyse

      haha, yes.

    • Amber

That would be HILLARIOUS! He’s not gonna say no to his real life woman! LOL!

  • BlatantURLPimpingMustDie

    Michel as Jason Dohring FTW!

    • stacie

I hope that it is Jason Dohring. On Veronica Mars, he played a wide spectrum from hero to villain. This would be the best thing ever for the Veronica Mars fans who r also Supernatural fans.

    • Dory

I never would have thought of him, but now that you mention it Jason Dohring would be awesome on Supernatural. Nice idea.

      • amanda

that idea gets me very excited, would be fun casting for sure.loved him in VM & found him a real treat in Moonlight too.

    • Liz

Oooh yes! I love Jason Dohring! He was my favourite character on Moonlight, and he would be excellent on Supernatural

  • Mousitsa

I have a feeling it won’t take long for this comment section to explode once again in the Sam!girls vs. Dean!girls mode that has become so commonplace now. While I am saddened to hear that such a momentous & landmark episode is not going to feature BOTH Winchesters equally, I will at least give Kripke & Co. the benefit of the doubt and wait to see it how it all fits in with this epic story unfolding. No matter what, this is an important milestone for a series, so CONGRATS to Supernatural Cast & Crew!

    • no longer mellow

Well you seem to be leading the charge on the samgirl side of things. So well done.

The entire first half of the season has dealt with Sam and Lucifer. God forbid that Michael and Dean be given some story too. This is one episode that just happens to be the 100th.

But knowing this fandom, even if it had been the 101st episode, people would complain because it was focused more on Dean than Sam.

No idea why this fandom needs to count minutes of screentime for actors, keeps track of who gets the close-up blah, blah. Does anyone actually watch the show for the story?

      • Trystan

        >>Does anyone actually watch the show for the story?<<

        *raises hand* i do!!

but then again, i'm weird that way….

      • Maddy

Hell yes, the story is brilliant,thought-provoking, complex, well-executed for the most part and focuses on both the mythology and multifaceted family relationships. If I just wanted vacuous entertainment with pretty boys (not that there’s anything wrong with that), I’d watch Twilight.

      • Mousitsa

Clearly, dear, you have me confused with someone else! LOL! I don’t ever recall that I ever “lead the charge on the samgirl side” or whatever you think I did. Not only am I in the Dean!girl camp, but if there is any charge to be lead, it’s going to be the “bi-bro” one. All my official reporting and blogging has always been equal, and I challenge you prove otherwise. Peace.

      • Mousitsa

p.s. my comment was in response to ‘no longer mellow’

      • mellow

Well darlin’, honey, sweetiepie, I know nothing about your blogging, though apparently you think I should. I responded to you because you were the first to start whining about unequal focus between the brothers. Sadly, you were not the last. If you want to be seen as above the Sam vs. Dean crap, maybe you shouldn’t raisie the same tedious issues in your posts. Just a thought. :)

      • Mousitsa

@Mellow — Wow, so many words of endearment, I’m touched. And no, I don’t expect you (or anyone else for that matter) to know anything about my blogging because I’m not that presumptuous. But you accused me of “leading the Samgirls charge” as if I were floating around the net doing so. Never have, and never will. I was simply stating that I didn’t think it would take long for the whining, complaining and bitching about how Sam is being shortchanged, or not featured, or not developed, or whatever other gripes have been popping up in every freakin’ comment section lately, to pop up in this one too. Something that has become not only repetitive but rather tedious as well. I merely stated a “disappointment” that an episode as important as #100 isn’t about The Winchesters equally, rather than just one of them. For all we know, it may very well be. It’s rather early to be making any judgment calls and I’m confident that Kripke & Co. know the importance of #100. psst! BTW, see my other post right under Janice which sums things up nicely. :)

    • Janice

Mousitsa: The 100th episode of any series is a huge landmark. I agree, the focus “should” be on both brothers. However, like you, I’ll wait and reserve judgment. Besides, what choice do we have? ;-)

      • Mousitsa

I have to trust that Kripke & Co. know how important #100 is to any series and will therefore do it justice. Justice to the episode and to the epic story unfolding. It also happens to be 5×18, which means that an episode so close to the end of the season (series? **gasp**) is going to be very pivotal in the overall story as well. Much more info will be coming out about this in the weeks/months to come. It is still very early to overreact to just one tidbit of info. And just as Sam wasn’t featured too heavily in “The End”, the impact of his appearance literally stole the show. I tend not to ‘trust Kripke’ blindly, but I have full faith when it comes to this momentous episode.

      • Wil

        @Moustitsa:
I completely agree with this. :)

    • Wil

I think you just MADE the conversation turn into the “Sam Vs. Dean” and while I’m not a girl or in love with the brothers, I will say that even though Kripke has been pounding and giving Sam hell for the last few seasons, sometimes he’s kind’ve annoying…I prefer Dean’s dry humor over Sam’s tortured persona…well they’re both tortured lol

      • Wil

(Somehow this showed up after my 2nd comment–but whoever started the stupid fangirls crap was getting on my nerves lol)

  • mango

OMG this is so exciting. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to find out more about Michael and his connection with Dean. So this is going to air in March, I’m guessing.

I could go for Michael taking the form of JDM. That would be cool and would resonate well with Dean. Or they could just have Jensen pull double-duty again and play Michael as well as Dean.

Poor Jensen, I would have working 24 hours a day just to keep me entertained. lol!

    • Trystan

agreed – i was thinking that Michael would be played by Jensen also.

  • Kay

I don’t think we’ll see John Winchester (darn it!), because JDM is very busy, according to Kripke. IF Michael’s trying to manipulate Dean, he might shift forms, from incorporeal light to other people important in Dean’s life. If he’s not, then he might just be light or a reflection of Dean himself, like what happened when Dean confronted his inner self in S3′s “Dream a Little Dream of Me.”

    • Trystan

i agree that Michael might appear as Dean himself.

  • Amy

Micheal will come in the form of Bruce Campbell. lol Or Cate Blanchet

    • castiella

…Or Cate Blanchett as Bob Dylan.

  • samjacklover aka: kaye

I want to be surprised! And knowing kripke & company we will be. I’m so excited for the cast & crew of Supernatural!

    What a wonderful milestone!!!

ENJOY GUYS AND CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE MIDWEST!!!!! YOU GUYS HAVE EARNED IT!!!!!!

**cake, balloons & confetti all around**

  • Ioni

Maybe Michael will be a little girl u never know I choose a little girl because Dean wouldn’t think Michael would be a little girl!!! hahaha SMART

    • Jackie

They did Lillith as a little girl, so I don’t think they’ll go there again. It would be interesting, but I don’t think it’ll happen.

  • heather

It depends on how they play Michael. If Michael is smart he would NOT appear to Dean as someone he cares about (ie Mary or John).

I do love the idea of Bruce Campbell or maybe Michael Shanks

    • stacie

Yes, am all for Michael Shanks!!

      • ceceo

michael shanks would be awesome! :)

    • jenn

      yes to Daniel Jackson

    • Raven

I would love JDM to be God, I do not think they can bring him back as Michael. Angels need a vessel, a live one , not a rotting corpse. I would like to see Michael come back as Jesse, remember the young boy who was half demon – half angel. I guess he could not use a vessel that was half demon. However, I think Jesse might have a role to play in the upcoming episodes.

      • Alice

        lol or a cremeted vessel!

  • Cos

The first half of the season sucked!

    • Nic

      Why?
      I TOTALLY DISAGREE

    • meg

      What? Are you serious?
