First and foremost CONGRATULATIONS to the entire Supernatural family on reaching such a milestone!! WOOHOO!
Speculation on Michael??? Could be “Mom” (Samantha Smith), could be Castiel, could be Jo, could be SAM! At any rate, if it’s already cast, I’m betting it is cast with someone we already know – much like Gabriel – soooo much easier to keep it a secret that way! If they do get JDM back, I’m expecting him to be God…
And can I just say that some of the answers already here are HILARIOUS and remind me of why this was (and often still is) a fun fandom?

    • Cindy

Seriously. What’s WITH this Sam-girl vs. Dean-girl fight? I love Sam, Dean, and Cass equally. :D And honestly, I’ve watched all the episodes from previous seasons at least three times, and I feel like it’s pretty much equal. Who cares if there are some one-character centric episodes? It just enhances the show. You can never know too much about Dean or Sam ;)
And yeah, I was thinking about how weird it’d be if it was in the form of Misha Collins, as Castiel, tricking Dean into saying yes. But who knows? Kripke’s a genius. He’s kept me entertained for five years!!!

  • Lisa M

Hey Ausiello? You aren’t keeping secrets are you??? You’re name IS Michael after all!! LOL! Just a quick thank you for getting this scoop right — unlike some “other” sites -

  • Minnie

nice way to thank your lead actors, Kripke, leave one out. You have class.

Well, this season has sucked like ever before so I’m settled to watch shark-jump after shark-jump anyhow.

Kim Manners, you are sorely missed and your memory isn’t being honored by such an 100th episode either. Kim cared for both characters and both actors. His influence on the overall show is clear at this point, he was the mastermind behind the success. Now it’s just a sad, uneven soap.

    • Nic

      *Rolls eyes*

Sam will be on it, sheeeeeeeeeee!

      • Amber

Yeah I agree Nic, just because they said it will focus on Dean, doesn’t mean Sam wont be in it! Of course he will! Everything Dean does has Sam’s best interest in mind.

  • timotey

Oh god, here we go again with the complaints. Yes, Kripke is so neglecting poor poor Sam that the next two eps (511, 512) are called “Sam, Interrupted” and “Being Sam Winchesters” – right, he’s doing that because he hates Sam’s guts. Sheesh on a pogo stick.

    • Mia

Not to mention the last 10 episodes, which dealt with Sam’s angst, Sam’s guilt, Sam’s mean-brother issues, Sam’s Luci issues. But still they claim he’s neglected or they don’t know what he’s thinking even as he’s saying it straight out. Really, they will never be satisfied until Ackles is gone and JP can shine without having to share the spotlight.

    • MD

That doesn’t necessarily mean that those episodes will be about Sam. Are You There God, It’s Me Dean Winchester and The Curious Case of Dean Winchester didn’t come across as Dean episodes to me at all.

  • Sarah

    MICHAEL AUSIELLO!!!!

  • David

On Deep Space Nine, the non corporeal beings conversed with a particular character by using the other characters. I suspect they’ll do the same. In Dean’s mind, Michael will speak through Sam, Bobby, Chuck and maybe even Ellen & Joe.

    • Eva

      That would be cool.

  • nobodysbaby

I’m just happy there is a 100th episode! The Winchester boys and Uncle Bobby when they are together are flippin’ hilarious even in very serious situations. So glad that I bought the first 4 seasons to catch up on what all the fuss is over this show…next to Jericho, Supernatural is the best and then Sons of Anarchy.

Congratulations, 100 episodes is a great achievement in this fickle world of television!

  • SPN Fan

Nice to know that once again, an episode will focus on Dean. Not just any episode mind you, but the all important 100th milestone. Maybe it we’re lucky, it will be like the other times and Sam will get less than 10 minutes of screen time! Can someone explain to me why there are NEVER any Sam episodes where Dean is given a minimal role? Anyone?

What happened to the good old days when the show focused on both of the brothers? When in the heck did Kripke get such a hard on for Dean at the expense of Sam’s characterization and screen time? I can’t think of a time when Dean was pushed in the background so Sam could shine. And it’s not easy to listen to people who tell us to wait to watch the episode before we complain when history has shown us that “Dean focused” episodes tend to marginalize Sam’s screen time and involvement.

And, no, I am NOT a Sam girl. I’m a fan of BOTH brothers. And I’d like to see BOTH of them treated right on this show. The Dean show co-starring Sam is becoming boring. I watch the show for the interaction of the brothers, not just to see Dean’s story or Dean’s feelings.

Oh and I can guarantee you that the episodes called “Sam, Interrupted” and “Being Sam Winchesters” will hardly be “Sam focused” episodes. The first is about BOTH of them going undercover in a mental institution. It’s the very first new episode in January. Anyone who saw the previews saw that Dean is heavily in it. And the second episode is one where Sam and Dean switch bodies with others. How is this a Sam focused episode?

Face it, Dean only fans will never understand the frustration of Sam or Dean/Sam fans when he is minimized and pushed into the background. Because it’s NEVER happened to Dean.

    • Mia

We don’t watch the same show. I suspect my version is much more fun than yours. :)

    • Nic

Please, read Mia’s comment above. You need it.

      • SPN fan

So if we don’t see things the same way, it’s because we don’t watch the same show? Implying of course, that YOU are the one who understands the show , while I just don’t get it at all.

Hardly… I suspect it’s more that you are a Dean girl and can’t see the point of view of Sam fans. Especially those who feel that Sam is being short changed. You’ll never understand or acknowledge their feelings because you are happy that Dean it getting so much attention. Deny it all you want…

Just as it’s obvious when reading the replies here who the rabid Sam girls are, it’s obvious who the rabid Dean girls are too. They’re the ones who just can’t seem to understand why there are fans who want Sam to have equality with Dean in screen time and in the story. They’re the ones who can’t even understand why the Dean focused episodes irk some people and why the thought of the milestone 100th episode focusing on Dean is rubbing some fans wrong. Because anyone who thinks this MUST be a silly rabid Sam girl! Right? It can’t be that some of you are equally silly rabid Dean girls? No way!

People need to stop acting like these arguments are one-sided. The Dean girls certainly egg on the Sam girls and flame the fires with their often condescending attitude that Sam girls and their complaints are unwarranted and childish. While Sam girls have the tendency to jump on anything that seems to slight Sam. It goes BOTH ways.

And don’t even get me started on how the rabid Dean girls also think Jensen is an acting god while Jared should just be happy to be employed. I love both of them as actors and characters. I think they have such chemistry and make each other better on the show. I wouldn’t want Sam without Dean or Dean without Sam. And unfortunately, Dean focused shows just happen to have a whole bunch of Dean without Sam. I and others wouldn’t care as much if the story was Dean centric without it meaning that Sam is largely ignored. A good example is “The Curious Case of Dean Winchester”. That was a very Dean centric story that still had plenty of Sam. It even had Sam saving Dean’s life. The worst example would definitely be “In the Beginning”. Gee, it was great how Sam had about two seconds of screen time in the important and pivotal scene of getting in the car with Ruby! Woo! That’s some quality character development there.

      • Nic

I meant above like the one above that last one. I didn’t see that Mia had replied you there, too.

I’m a brothers fan and, as such, I understand the plot, not the screen time. In the Beginning was all about Sam, too. Just because Sam wasn’t physically there doesn’t mean that he wasn’t the focus.

I mentioned “The Curious Case”. Well, it was more a Bobby centric than Dean centric and it wasn’t Jensen as Dean. And I didn’t read any nasty comments like some of Sam girls do because they didn’t see Jensen there. Because the majority understood the plot, not the screen time. And how the hell you know that Sam won’t be hardly in the plot in the 100th episode, too, like “The Curious Case”? So just… Calm down, eeeeeeeeeek.

    • Nic

Dean’s story or Dean’s feelings??? When? It’s all about Sam, even the Dean-centric episodes, like In The Beginning”, “The End”, etc. Yes, it had more Dean, but it was all about SAM.

I watch the show because of the brothers, too, so don’t claim that you’re like that. If you were, you would understand and see the PLOT, not who appears more.

      • Minnie

ha ha ha! Sam wasn’t even in The End for more than a couple of seconds while he made the call. The rest was Lucifer in Sam. All abot Sam? it’s hilarious that the overt discrepancy in the balance feeds such posts.

Talk about admonishing others to not complain and watch the plot. Hilarious. Pot meet kettle. *rolls eyes*

    • Minnie

Don’t bother with these, they have already proven their colors
The ratings are also proving the current quality of the show. It’ll be over soon anyhow and nobody will remember it thanks to the last three seasons. I hate to see how a fairly good and unique show became this sorry saga of plot holes and ideas ripped off everything and everybody.

The Gandhi-incident was an all time low. The only hero on the show calls a man like Gandhi a diaper wearing midget?

      That’s class for you!

      • Lady Jane

**”The Gandhi-incident was an all time low. The only hero on the show calls a man like Gandhi a diaper wearing midget? That’s class for you!”**

So why are you complaining? Everyone knows you hate Dean and Jensen so I would think anything that made them look bad, would thrill you to bits. Like I said, never satisfied.

      • Nic

Yes, Minnie. ALL about Sam. Sam was the reason of Dean going there and Sam was what Dean thought about all the time. Sam was the lesson that Dean learned. ALL about Sam.

If you can’t see that…. It’s too late for you.

    • Eva

Jack Nicholson… yeha I’m hallucinating, but what the hell? It would be great.

      • Lindsay

Man, if we are dreaming, I want SWINTON.

    • claire

I think you missed the entire season 2 of Supernatural where was all about Sam destiny like in the episode all hell breaks lose part 1

  • LG from VA

Marion Ross (aka Mrs. Cunningham from Happy Days).

  • donilou

I’d vote for either Chuck Norris or Betty White as Michael, with a heavy leaning toward Betty.
As for the 100th episode, it’s a longevity marker that assures syndication nothing more. It also happens to be 5.18 which would have been mytharc heavy anyway and just happens to focus on Dean- it could just as easily have been Sam, and there are seven episodes until we get there- maybe Sam will get his screen-time in then for all the bean-counters out there.

    • Mia

Doesn’t matter how much screen time they give Jared. His fans can’t be satisfied because he’s starring in a two-lead show and not JP-vehicle. They’ve never been able to grasp that concept. I want to see Ben Edlund play Michael. That would be hi-larious. And then Kripke can play God. I wonder if those guys have ever done any acting. LOL!

      • Mousitsa

Kripke playing God…. Best. Idea. Ever! LOL!

  • elvisglasses

Congrats to the cast & crew for reaching this major milestone!! I can’t wait to learn more about Michael and his connection to Dean. There are lots of interesting theories floating around right now, so who knows how it’ll play out. I just hope that Michael is not like any of the other archangels we’ve met so far (Grumpy, Whiny, and Needy), and will be more like Castiel in that his (Michael’s) interests are aligned with God’s — i.e. in preserving humanity. I think Jensen could knock it out of the park as Michael, but I could also see him appearing to Dean as Mary Winchester. We’ll just have to wait and see. How much longer until Jan. 21st?!?

  • Amy

How great that we are getting to 100 eps. Just brilliant. I never understand this Sam v Dean war that goes on in these comments. The episodes take the difection they need to take with the focus on the character that the need to take to propel the story onwards. I love how the mytharc is playing out and I for one trust Kripke and his trusty crew to get us all there in a blaze of glory and excitement. Well done to the whole team for continually delivering such creative TV!

    • Cindy

      Hear, Hear!!!

  • Amber

What if it is Dean on Dean, cause the Dean released from Hell is not “real Dean” or something, know what I mean? LIke maybe he has to accept Michael in order to really get out of hell? When Dean got out of Hell Bobby said to him “do you feel like yourself” and nothing else really came of that comment. Just a thought.

  • Heather

    Wow. 100. That’s amazing.
But I would love for Bruce Cambell to be it. Or at least Sam?
