Exclusive: USA renews 'Burn Notice' for fourth season

Tags: , News

This was pretty much a no-brainer: USA Network has renewed Burn Notice for a fourth season, sources confirm to me exclusively.

A report that BN had been picked up appeared in the trades last July, but a USA insider says the season 4 deal only became official yesterday.

The smash hit is slated to return with the second half of its third season in January. The 16-episode fourth season would likely debut next summer.

The news comes a day after USA picked up Psych for a fifth season.

I can’t believe you are just now posting this. We have known this for a few MONTHS NOW thanks to TWITTER!!

Read the article. The deal is official now, which means that terms were agreed on and signatures affixed to legal papers. Which is great news because I really like this show.

  • DeansRevival

YES!!!!! I cannot wait till the show returns.

YEAH! BURN NOTICE is one of the best shows on tv!
It turns out that I am becoming more devoted to USA than any other network.
ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC-you better watch your back.
USA is putting on more quality shows than you guys of late.

    • Mike

Couldn’t agree more, between burn notice, royal pains, psyche, monk and now white collar USA is staking a pretty good claim for tops in the quality department.

      • Julie

Not only does USA put on real quality shows, but they seem more interested in doing what their fans want. I am so excited to watch BN again.

  • Q

Woohoo!! Kudos to USA for continually making great shows and giving them a chance to find audiences – the major networks should be looking over their collective shoulders.

I saw it for the first time this past summer. I loved it so much, I went out and bought the first 2 seasons and had a marathon weekend. I cannot wait for the rest of season 3 in Jan, and look forward to next summer’s 4th season. I think all 3 make a great team (Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell), and also Sharon Gless as the chain-smoking mom. Gotta luv her to death.

  • Karen

Season 4 is news in November? That has been on the Burn Notice homepage since August.

  • Pamela

    Excellent!

  • Jamie

For those of us that aren’t on twitter and have lives this is great news. I watched seasons 1 and 2 multiple times (more than I can count) and can’t wait for the second half of S3.

  • Lorie

    Cool deal!

  • Kalie

Great news! I love “Burn Notice” & “Psych”!

  • Rob

An exclusive? Is this a bad joke? You do realise that USA released a press release confirming the renewal of both Burn Notice and Royal Pains at the end of July, right? Perhaps you should get better sources if they’re ‘exclusively’ confirming the renewal of a series four months after it was publicly renewed by the network. Alternatively you could correctly use the word exclusive and stop padding the site on slow news days.

Re-read the brief article. The news was out in July, but it’s now “official.”

  • Heather

No brainer but still nice to hear its official. Watch out NBC. Your little sister network is outbesting you.
