Exclusive: 'Numb3rs' fans can count on closure

Categories: Numb3rs

Numbers-Morrow-show_lCBS’ decision cut Numb3rs‘ episode count from 22 to 16 is the clearest sign yet that the CBS procedural’s current sixth season will likely be its last. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the network gave producers enough notice to plan for a possible series finale. READ FULL STORY »

Thursday ratings: 'Bones,' 'FlashForward' go another round

FlashForward and Bones continued to slug it out this week, with audience numbers basically neck and neck. FF edged out its Fox competitor averaged over the hour, but Bones picked up viewers in its second half while FlashForward lost them. Rankings were relatively stable otherwise, with slight dips for NBC comedies except Community, and Vampire Diaries proved its lasting power with another strong showing.

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'House,' 'Grey's,' 'Mentalist,' 'Smallville,' and more!

ask-ausiello_lGot a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Just want to say hi? You can send any/all of the above to ausielloscoop@ew.com

Question: It’s great to see Jesse Spencer getting a powerful storyline on House. Any news on how he’ll cope without Cameron? —Angela
Ausiello:
Not well. In the Nov. 23 episode — the first sans Jennifer Morrison as Cameron — he loses it and punches House in the face! “Chase is very clearly off his game,” says a House insider, “and struggling with the loss of Cameron.” What prompts the fisticuffs? Apparently, Doc Crankypants unfavorably compares him to his far prettier, smarter wife, and Chase blows his top and decks him!

Question: Jesse Spencer has been amazing in the current arc on House, but I’m worried this storyline is setting up his eventual exit from the show a la Jennifer Morrison. Any word from your mole? —Carol
Ausiello:
My mole assures me that you’re just being paranoid. Jesse’s staying put. (For now at least.) READ FULL STORY »

Ratings: 'NCIS' wins night, while ABC cashes its 'V' card

Categories: TV Biz, TV Ratings

The series premiere of ABC’s sci-fi drama V performed mightily in Tuesday’s 8-9 p.m. hour, and even built its audience by 2 percent in the second half hour. V earned ABC the highest Adult 18-49 rating for an 8 p.m. drama debut on any network and any night since the 2004 series premiere of Lost. Meanwhile, NBC’s The Biggest Loser built its audience by over a million viewers from 8-10 p.m., and Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance lost 13 percent of its audience from 9-10 p.m., perhaps due to Dancing With the Stars‘ double-elimination results show. After a week of repeats, average viewership for NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles was slightly down since their last new episodes October 20, but both won their competitive time slots as usual to let CBS sweep the chart in total viewership for Tuesday night.
