Since Ugly Betty got its groove back this season, only one thing’s been holding it back: that godawful Friday time slot! But thankfully, that problem will soon be solved. Sources confirm for me that the show’s moving to Wednesdays at 10 pm/ET, most likely when it returns from its holiday hiatus in January.
If you don’t think it’s good news that Betty is joining what will soon be ABC’s all-comedy night (even though the network isn’t confirming the schedule change yet), trust me, or trust Mike, who has to be among its biggest cheerleaders, you haven’t seen it lately. It’s great!
So what do you think? Will more viewers check out and/or return to the series when it escapes from its Friday purgatory and joins the Wednesday laffers? And if not, how sucktacular will that be? Debate below.

Oooh, this is such terrific news. I LOOOOVE Ugly Betty, and this season has been so terrific. This news truly made my day. Yaaaay! Hopefully this means that UB is not up for any cancellation, yes?

Thats awesome, and Ugly Betty will have great lead ins with Wednesday’s comedy blocks! This is just the move the show needs to save itself. But please change the title asap! Very misleading.
This is great news! I have seen only one episode this season because I’m always out on Fridays, and it was really really good. So now I’ll be able to watch every week hopefully. But, as far as lead-ins, I hear Cougar Town is not doing so well, so Ugly Betty cannot count on help there. Ugly Betty is so good this season that maybe it can help Cougar Town.
OMG!!! I am sooo HAPPY that the network is not canceling this wonderful show Ugly Betty!!! Witches of EAstwick was a horrible show, some movies need to stay movies and not network shows! Sheesh.

hmmm Ugly Betty’s ratings have been steadily declining since season 1 even in a Thursday line up however they did NOT reach critical levels until it moved to Friday. Maybe this will help its ratings, we’ll have to see but at least ABC is trying to keep it alive.

Smallville isn’t doing so badly at all. In fact the ratings have been increasing for a while now, almost back to normal levels and it is still one of the most profitable shows for the CW.
Besides there was a press release already issued that the CW wants a season 10, nothing has been inked yet however.
I know, it’s doing phenomenal for it’s placement in the week, but think how MUCH BETTER it would do on a different day perhaps!
I agree. But it’s actually been performing pretty well given the terrible time slot. There’s talk from a reliable source that the CW definitely wants a season 10, and it’s been known for awhile that the producers do too. Wouldn’t complain if it moved though, I bet it could take over Melrose’s slot once it doesn’t get renewed.
Oh goodness, I gave up on UB two seasons ago, but I may have to catch up if its THAT good again. (:
