Ratings: NBC's 'Biggest Loser' is a winner in Jay Leno's slot

President Obama’s address on Afghanistan interrupted Tuesday night’s 8 p.m. hour, after which CBS continued to pull in the highest average viewership with two repeats and The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Work it, girl (Give a twirl!) NBC earned the highest Adults 18-49 rating for the night by far, though, with a later-than-usual installment of The Biggest Loser that handily outperformed The Jay Leno Show‘s usual numbers from 10-11 p.m. Viewership for the debut of ABC’s revamped Scrubs fell off 33 percent from the series’ season 8 debut this January.

I do not get why Scrubs was renewed.

    • dave

I love Scrubs but ABC was foolish for renewing it. It had a nice wrapped up finale last spring and there was no reason to milk any more out of it. On top of that, they foolishly canceled Samantha Who?…ABC frickin sucks.

    • Marie

I don’t either, “scrubs” has run its course. “Samantha Who” is what should’ve been renewed.

  • amy

cancel Scrubs and order more EASTWICK!!!!! (I’m crazy and I just can’t let it go yet!!) I’m sad

  • Ruben

I thought Jay was on at 10 pm? That chart shows “Biggest Loser” on at 9 pm.

    • steve

I dont know. Maybe it was 2 hours long? I dont really pay attention much obviously. lol

    • Jojo

The Biggest Loser is always a 2 hour show, and typically starts at 8pm, but due to the President it got pushed to 9pm! Therefore, NBC did not air Jay Leno, and The Biggest Loser surpassed Jay Leno’s typical ratings for that time slot!!

NBC made a huge mistake forcing Jay out of The Tonight Show! There is a reason talk shows are not on at 10pm…people don’t want their regular drama’s or comidies interrupted!! Or in this case, their favorite reality show!!!

      Did I just confuse you?

  • don

eastwick is dead those witches were burned in the ratings scrubs is great with studs zach braff and donald faison

    • steve

but braff and faison arent going to be on the show anymore after awhile right?

      • Jon

Braff will be on for the first 6 episodes and maybe more in the future. Faison will be on the full season

  • steve

I wonder how long CW will stick with Melrose Place. Heather Locklear doesnt seem to be helping too much. Maybe til the end of the season then its over possibly?

  • susan

Well of course the Biggest Loser outperformed Jay Leno. It was a two hour special from 9-11. Most people wouldn’t just watch from 9-10 then change the channel and miss the last hour.

  • Rob

This was a bad night of TV. I love scrubs but they should have just finished it last year.

  • Torrence5

Too bad someone at ABC didn’t have the brains to keep “Samantha Who?” as a mid-season replacement. Add it to Wed night’s comedy line-up in the now vacant “Hank” spot & a great show would be on a good night & everyone ( including the idiots that run ABC ) would be happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Michael

i couldnt agree more. Samantha Who was farrrrr better than Hank, and even Scrubs (in my opinion). I cannot believe they canceled it.

  • Emma

Maybe if ABC had bothered to promote Scrubs AT ALL it would have had some viewers. I’m a die-hard fan and even I didn’t know it was on last night. Had to watch it this morning.

    • swthompson

How could you miss all those promos? I couldn’t have missed it if I tried.

    • dave

I actually saw a lot of promos for Scrubs over the past month. ABC has been promoting it a lot.
Better Off Ted (which returns next week), on the other hand, is barely getting any promos. For some odd reason, it seems ABC really wants Better Off Ted to fail and it’s killing me. It’s one of the best comedies on TV and ABC doesn’t even care.

      • bootsycolumbia

Oh, I’m so happy Better Off Ted is coming back! I love that show. I was kind of p.o.’ed because I thought it had been canceled, so this news is great!

      • bernice

Yeah I love BOT. Its one of my fav shows. I need them to move it to Weds though with the other wonderful comedies that night since Hank is gone.

  • Nate

Time to get rid of Scrubs, Jay Leno and the fall edition fo SYTYCD on Fox. Just brutal ratings.

    • bernice

Yeah whomever thought of putting SYTYCD on in the fall is a moron. I love that show and it just doesn’t work in the fall. The ratings for the show are like double in the summer. I just don’t understand these suits.

  • Charlene

I was hoping Heather Locklear would have helped the New Melrose Place. Hopefully, there is an angel waiting in the wings and the Ratings get better….

Amanda Still Soars to the top of the line.
