Viewers reached for the comfort food of CBS’ 60 Minutes and NBC’s Minnesota-Arizona football matchup on a wintry Sunday night, according to early Nielsen estimates. NBC won the evening, as usual, thanks to Sunday Night Football; the Eye Net’s Cold Case, however, continued to fade, dropping 1.2 million viewers since its last airing. ABC’s Desperate Housewives, meanwhile, scored with its much-promoted plane crash episode, soaring up 2 million viewers since its last episode. During the rest of the weekend, CBS continued to reign on Friday on the strength of Ghost Whisperer (8.2 million), Medium (7 million), and Numb3rs (7.4 million); Fox’s Dollhouse earned its cancellation with a dismal 1.9 million, and The Jay Leno Show struggled, as usual, with 4.8 million.

Great numbers for Amazing Race and Brothers & Sisters.
Anyone know how Betty did on Friday? That was an amazing episode!
I think I read 4.4 but I’m not positive, it was around. I too thought the episode was one of the best. Glad they finished with the whole Phoenix plot line. Anyone else?
Are these from the correct night? Three Rivers wasn’t on and Cold Case was on at 9pm…
There’s no error on EW’s part. CBS moved Cold Case was moved to 9 PM EST yesterday, and a rerun of NCIS LA replaced the 10 PM EST time slot.
The ABC ratings e-mail this morning was wrong. “Three Rivers” didn’t air and “Cold Case” aired at 9 p.m., where it did better numbers than CBS has gotten out of the slot all season. At 10 p.m. CBS aired a repeat of “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
@picklejuice: Betty was up 33% from its last new airing. ~4 million-ish viewers and a 1.2 demo rating.
I was just going to mention the same thing already caught by several…Cold Case aired at 8 PM (central) followed by a repeat of NCIS:LA.
I wouldnt phrase Dollhouse as earning its cancellation. People probably stopped watching even more because it was cancelled and think whats the point of watching anymore. Plus its kinda harsh to say a show earned it after already being cancelled for a month. Whats the point of even mentioning it at all.
Jennifer armstrong clearly dosent know what she is talkin about. I was just on tvbythenumbers.com which is the site for the nielson ratings, and Cold Case was way up with 9.932 in the millions and a 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic. where did you get your numbers at??? Cold Case has bounced back after getting rid of that nagging Three Rivers show. Cold Case may not be the best show on television but I love it none the less. And it may be cancelled after this year, but lets be publishing the numbers and shows correctly please.
I could care less about Cold Case, but you’re right about the incorrect numbers. Both tvbythenumbers.come and blog.zapit.com posted Cold Case around 9 million viewers.
But I think Jennifer’s mistake was unintentional. She most likely took the NCIS: LA numbers (which was around 7 mil), thinking they were Cold Case numbers. A few people here didn’t even know about the Cold Case time switch, and I’m guessing Jennifer didn’t either.
The sad thing about Dollhouse is that the shows airing now are so much better than the first season, which was admittedly uneven.
Jennifer Armstrong should be fired for such incorrect reporting.
Desprate housewives needs to end its run.Its been on the Air since 2004.Also Its time for 60 minutes to go.Its been on the Air since 1968 in 2010
So just because a show has been on awhile means it should go. So Simpsons should go like right now because its been on a long time more than housewives. same with csi, svu, survivor, etc. What kind of rationale is that?
Dollhouse is a show that is just hitting it’s stride. Too bad it wasn’t on a cable network where it might have been given some time to grow.
