Exclusive: 'Desperate Housewives' books Jane Leeves

Tom Scavo is finally getting professional help for that nasty mid-life crisis of his.

Desperate Housewives has inked a deal with Frasier’s Jane Leeves to play Tom’s psychotherapist in at least two episodes, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Leeves, whose arc kicks off in late January, isn’t the first Frasier grad to pass through Wisteria Lane. Harriet Samson Harris, who played Frasier’s brash agent Bebe, recurred in Seasons 1 and 2 as Felicia Tilman. And former Frasier showrunner Joe Keenan serves as a consulting producer on DH.

Tom won’t be the only Wisterian getting psychiatric attention in early ’10. Word has it Katherine will also have her brain examined by a shrink in the new year. Better late than never!

It would be cool if Katherine ended up in the same institution as Dave — they could really plot some revenge! Have them come back for the end of the series….
I also wonder if we’ll ever hear from Zach Young again…..I would think since he knows Mike Delfino is his birth dad he might keep in touch with him ……

    • JEd

      Brilliant!

    • Anna

Totally agree with Jed. I genuflect before your brilliance.

    • amj

Brilliant plot option! Love it! I miss Dave, he was wickedly wonderful.

    • Chantelle

I bet Zach Young is the strangler. They keep saying it is someone we know, and I think he is the only one capable of it.

      • airmeki

        Interesting! And definitely plausible.

  • marc

peri gilpin also guest starred one ep

    • Seann

Haha. Woops. I thought I was the only one who remembered that. ::)

    • airmeki

… and don’t forget Kathryn Joosten (Mrs. McCluskey) who had a few stints in Frasier as Bebe’s secretary …)

  • Crystal

If anyone in the Scavo household needs psychiatric help it’s Lynette who is a regular suburban Lady Macbeth who only tells the truth about twice a season in between lying and scheming to get her way no matter the fate of anyone else. Wish Lynette would die in that plane crash. Can’t stand that cow.

    • Connor

I LOVE LYNETTE!! MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER!!! :D

    • Shurly

I totally agree with you Crystal. Sometime I just can’t stand her !!

    • Doris

I also love Lynnette. Sometimes she does lie but it’s only to protect her family. And Tom, sweet as he is, is a big kid that she has to mother just like the other three.

      • amj

Agree, Lynette is great and Tom is often a big kid that she needs to mother.

      • jlb

        She has 4 kids.

  • bunker

It’ll be nice to see her on TV again!

  • anonymous

Didn’t Felicity Huffman guest star on Frasiar?

    • Nick T

She was on there for like half a season. She was the mean financial advisor who hated Roz.

    • airmeki

Oh she almost was a regular there – at least 6 or 7 episodes!

  • ariel

I’m so happy to see her again. I loved her on Frasier.

  • Nick T

too bad i dont watch this show.

    • Daniel

Thanks for sharing. Go back to the Jersey Shore articles. Troll.

  • Cass

I love Jane Leeves! If only I liked DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES…

  • Seann

I would also like to point out that Peri Gilpin, AKA Roz from Frasier was also a DH guest star, in season three. She was Susan’s cake decorator when Susan was with Ian. If I recall correctly, I think Susan tried to set her up with Mike.

  • Mary

I’ve never watched DH before but I just might if Jane is on. I loved her as Daphne on Frasier. Interesting casting. On Frasier Daphne was employed by a psychiatrist, and on DH Jane’ll be playing one. Should be interesting to see.

  • Kristin

Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman were also both on Frasier.

  • Nat

So exciting! Thanks for letting us know about this one Ausiello :D

  • Glowbug

How is it possible that Lynette is now pregnant with twins! Didn’t she just get over cancer and chemo and losing her hair and first thing in she is going to have two kids! Ridiculous and she is too old to be pregnant –Ugh stupid storyline–however no character is more annoying that Susan–she behaves like a gauky teenager–what guy would want to deal with her—is it just about her looks?

    • Jackie

Glowbug, Lynnette’s cancer storyline happened five years in the past. Also, she’s only supposed to be in her early to mid-40′s. Women are having babies later and later nowadays, so early to mid-40′s isn’t that old.

Also, if you’ve been paying attention, Susan’s character has matured a lot this season.

      • Buffy

Susan really has matured a lot! She used to get on my nerves, but I’m glad she’s really growing up some this season. It makes her character much more bearable.

  • Jen

    Daphne!!!

Glad to see Tom will be getting professional help, but I’m a little disappointed the plane didn’t take out that man-baby.

  • Ben

Will be great seeing Jane Leeves again!

    • Goldie

I think they should have made Jane a new neighbor on Wisteria Lane.
