Killing off Rita was inevitable. Even if it wasn’t written until a few weeks before the end of the season, it was the only way it could end. Dexter’s relationship with his son is what will drive the storyline, and it had to be made clear that his son is Dexter all over again.

Well now I kno not to hope Ritas death was a dream :( I KNEW something bad ws gona happen cz Dex got wreckless with his tailing Trinity, and as long many times he Failed to kill him it was only karma-conscious to hav him kill her, still Sucks. NOW I’m leanin towards the idea that Dex will spiral badly and have the kids taken from him for a while and he just might kill a bit bloodier.. Can’t waiitt!!!!

They can take this alot of different directions. If I am not mistaken Dexter had not been sleeping, and made reference to it several times. I believe he also fell asleep while he was waiting on Trinity to wake up before he killed him. I beleive it depends on the viewers comments on where they take this as do most shows.

While Rita got on my nerves, I think that the ending was sloppy. There would be so much more potential for the show if Rita continues on. That ending could be plausible if it was worked up as a dream sequence for the next season. Just think of the possibilities…..one of the kids or Rita could find an arm that fell out of a Hefty bag on the boat, Rita could go nuts, one of the kids could start to exhibit ‘traits’….that Dexter will have to do something about.

Ese final ha desgraciado todo el prestigio que ha ganado Dexter a los largo de aƱos. Me han roto el corazon con su imbecilidad y han hecho quedar a Dexter como un estupido frente a Trinity.

I hope U be happy… This is the big deception of my life in front a TV. Dexter will never be the same, from now on the serie it’s going down & it’s all you.

I was hoping since Dexter fell asleep at the table, he really never woke up and we saw his dream that Trinity had killed Rita!!! Thats what I was going with and hoping at that point he would see that he had to either be even more secretive or he had to have a huge fight with her and leave her!!or whatever but I think the intensity of Dexter and the greatness will be destroyed going with RITA being dead I hope not since I am a HUGE fan of this show I cant wait to see what happens!! Just hope it doesnt go downhill!!

I still thinks its a dream.Of course Phillips is going to say
its “not” The 5th season will open up with Dexter waking up from a bad dream in the Keys with Rita, asking him “what is wrong blah balh blah”…..How could Dexter have missed Rit’s call?? He ALWAYS answers his cell phone, even when hes right in the middle of chopping off some one head.

I don’t like thinking Rita is dead. However she must be. Trinity had time to do the deed, Dexter was sitting in jail. And he had motive he (Trinity) told Dexter he wanted to be left alone and Dex took his money. I was really expecting something ominous from Rita because of her lying to Dexter about how many times she’d been married. Excited to see S5 regardless.

For cryin’ out loud people…all the characters are exactly as they are written. Rita was the way she was so we wouldnt mourn her whineyness :) ~
