I read over a lot of these comments (of course not all of them, but whatever I could get through in half an hour or so) and I just see so many comments putting down the finale. First off, I just have to say one thing…If you think it was a cop-out and then decide to continue watching in Season 5, well…YOU ARE A DIRTY DIRTY HYPOCRITE! *I say that with sarcasm and had I said it aloud, I would have snickered*
Call it a cop-out, call it whatever you will. I was very upset with the way they ended it. Not because I feel they’re trying to “chase ratings” or “make the writing easier”, but because I am one of those people who get very attached to characters. For instance, when Elliott was flirty with Rita (before he even kissed her) I was like “HEY BACK OFF!” I always like to put myself in the life of characters on a show (in this case, Dexters family) I’ve also got a life and am not totally lame, before I continue. Anyways I was just so upset I felt like I could cry, I really liked the character, but I feel maybe this choice was bold. Now I’m hungry for more.
Fact of the matter is this. If you think negatively about the show go ahead, but anybody who doesn’t isn’t going to read your comment and go “OMG! THEY’RE RIGHT. THIS SHOW IS AWFUL!” (same thing with the “this show is immoral” people, what are you even doing on this page?) No, this show is going to keep getting ratings, and I know for a fact I wasn’t the only one to end this season upset, still loving the show, and still wanting more.
If you don’t like it then don’t watch it (or visit an EW article about it either for that matter)…if you did like it, but don’t anymore, then take that for what it’s worth and quit now. If you’re like me, and are always loving the tense moments, and surprises…then…
    VIVA DEXTER!
    Bring on Season 5!!!

I couldn’t believe it.I wasn’t a fan of the Rita character, however I did see the purpose of it.Dexter had to have an anchor, she was that anchor to the normalities of life.A life that Dexter longed for,yet realized he might never have.In killing off Rita, the writers have opened up many doors, and the possibilities are endless. To those who may stop watching,..Really??? You’ve watched 48 episodes and are just going to dismiss it?I have faith in the writers to create even more excitement, intigue, and fascinating side stories that only add to this program that i’ve invested all those hours in.This show has grabbed me from the first episode with its twists, and turns, and suprises that you just don’t see coming. That is the appeal.I am still wondering whats next?I find myself thinking about the show, what I would have happen next.None of it matters. It will all be explained in september, and I for one will be glued to the T.V.,like all of you.Eagerly watching every minute, cel phone off, door locked and a notice to friends and family that I am unavailable for an hour each week, becuase I have to focus on what I like to call-my dark passenger.Dexter.

I have to say this is one of my favorite shows on television..i like how they ended the season off even though Rita’s character will be leaving. Her character was very soft spoken and she was a genuine person. She brought good energy to the show and was great influence for Dexter. I think Dexter is totally one of my favorite characters on the show. I think its wrong he kills people. but its right that he kills people that deserve it, he kills people that hurt other people for wrong reasons. He gets back at people that are cold hearted people. Anyways cant wait till next season comes out. Hope its even better then the last season. Im counting down the days:-)

Rita was a thorn in Dexters side. I hated the transformation her character took (and Julie Benz’s implants and extensions)

I see all these people saying “yeah he’s awesome, but then you realize you’re cheering for a serial killer and you get a little shaken.” It makes me wonder why I never felt that way. I keep supporting him because he really is justified. I feel a sort of kinship with Dexter: we’re both pretending to be real people.

Dexter should have been winning Best Actor titles! There’s no doubt he is such a great, versatile actor. As for the show, I find myself impress and get hooked up to keep on watching…until the finale, when I eventually feel like I wasted my time watching the season. This season, I thought the writers of the show find ways in improving there finale. But, it’s just same old style of ending….a VERY disgusting, sick, stupid finale! Thus, making me realize how Sick Minded the writers are!!!!

  • Greetings! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be fan

Good info and straight to the point. I’m not sure if this is in truth the top place to ask but do you guys have any ideea where to employ some professional writers? Thank you
