'Daily Show', 'Colbert Report' to be broadcast in HD starting Jan. 4

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert: Coming crisper to a TV screen near you. EW.com has learned that Comedy Central will broadcast The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report in high definition starting Monday, Jan. 4 at 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., respectively.

    Awesome news, but I wonder will Comcast (or whatever the cable provider happens to be) actually broadcast it that way? Comedy Central isn’t one of the HD channels they currently offer…

    I’m the same as DavidJ, I have Time Warner and while some Comedy Central shows currently are in HD (South Park) but the channel isn’t available in HD. Hopefully The Daily Show and Colbert helps change that.

    Where I live Comcast offers Comedy Central in HD so I’m pretty happy about this. It’s about time. It could be letterboxed like most shows are now for people watching in SD.
