It’s a Gilmore Girls mother-daughter reunion on NBC!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that beloved Gilmore matriarch Kelly Bishop has booked a multi-episode arc on Mercy. She’ll play a patient of Sonia’s (Jamie Lee Kirchner) named Elaine.
Where does the Gilmore reunion part come in, you ask? Well, Bishop’s TV offspring, Lauren Graham, is also starring on a Peacock drama, Parenthood. And although Bishop’s first airdate is TBD, there’s a good chance both actresses will be appearing on NBC at the same time. And in my book* that constitutes a reunion.

Oh, I SO hoped you meant that they would be on screen together! It would be so interesting to see them act together in a completely different context.
Yeah, I’m still mad from the “Eric dies!” trick to get people to watch that video over the summer (we shouldn’t joke about that!) … I feel like enough people read this blog that “bending the truth” isn’t necessary.
Grrr, that was so not fair – though a genious move, I admit. Who could possibly resist the lovely Gilmore Girls?! But if it’s not about the mysterious and much anticipated GG movie, I would bet my money on a reunion…

How deviously misleading of you. You got me all excited for Kelly being on Parenthood with Lauren.:( Not cool. I hardly watch NBC these days. I will for Parenthood and Chuck though. FNL is on DirectTV thank god. Sorry Kelly. No Mercy.

I respectfully disagree. It is a fun show, and obviously able to get great guest stars. And If anyone thought Ausiello was being serious about a GG mother-daughter reunion then you obviously don’t this column enough.
Close enough. Next step is getting that GG movie made!
For me I’ll always think of Kelly (then Carole) Bishop as Sheila from the original cast of ‘A Chorus Line’.
Her appearance on ‘Mercy’ might just entice me to watch.
