Bon Temps-bound Joe Manganiello is making a little pit stop in Tree Hill.
The actor, whose career got a monster-sized boost earlier this week when he was cast as werewolf Alcide on True Blood, has signed on to reprise his role as Brooke’s alcoholic ex, Owen, on One Tree Hill for an episode.
Manganiello will squeeze in his OTH comeback before beginning work on True Blood in late January.
When last seen in season 6, Owen was heading off to rehab. What brings him back? Beats me. Whatever the reason, it’s safe to say he’ll add another layer of tension to Brooke’s already-rocky romance with Julian. At least that’s what EW’s Jennifer Armstrong theorizes. I’m a little behind on OTH.

I am going to take a guess and say I am the only guy who loves watching this show, I think its the second best after Smallville. I think the show which returns Jan. 18, its going to be very rocky but when the show ended its Fall finale, a new guy who was blonde appeared to be the next guy she hooks up with but maybe Owen returns as a friend since its only for an episode.
the blonde guy wasnt a love interest for brooke hes her new model for the mans line! hes the dude victoria hired.

And i agree that Millie is probably the reason he comes back. He might have a couple of scenes with Brooke, but I’d say its mostly Millie. I’m glad he’s coming back, he kind of faded off a bit. I didn’t even know why he left, to be honest. I must have forgotten.
its like a christmas gift!!! Im super exicted for him to be on True Blood, but a live for my monday night date nights with the girls for One Tree Hill and alittle Owen will do us some good!!!
Effing NO! This guy is the most unprofessional actor ever. Not only his character is full of shiz, but he used to tease Brooke/Lucas fans all the time via some random podcast. Keep this trash away from Brooke.
Aaww yay I was wondering if we’d ever see Owen again, I loved him, thought he and Brooke were pretty great together while it lasted. Although I guess he’s back to help Millie with her addiction, like Gin already said.
I thought he was horrible on OTH. He was with Brooke for 5 seconds and then had Chase break up with her? So stupid. Then he came back and tried to do the naked in the car thing. He was a horrible character so I can only hope Gin is right. Otherwise, I cant imagine what purpose he would serve, esp with the new British guy who is supposed to be for Brooke.

No kidding! They were the show. It is really not the same without them! Come on OTH brass! We waited forever for them to finally be together for good, then you send them away without any reason why they left.
I am so happy to hear this! I wish he was going back for more than just one episode though.
I don’t care. I hate this season! It’s so boring and Rachel is really annoying right now(I loved her in season 4)… But I’m really happy that Leyton left Tree Hill because i never liked them.
Pretty sure he’s the guy who’s supposed to come back to Tree Hill with Haley’s sister Taylor… since they hinted the mystery guy has been on the show before. Maybe they met each other in rehab.
Why couldn’t it be Chris Kellar coming back!!! But I agree with you that it is probably Owen with Taylor.

I agree! Brad was funny! OTH is just trying to stay alive by bringing back past characters.
Brooke and Julian aren’t going to make it. This pretty much solidifies that.
All I have to say is it’s about freakin’ time!!! I am definately team Owen!! I just wish that if he was coming back that they’d get rid of Julian for good. Hot Owen the bartender is way better for Brooke!!!!

Owen is coming back but the new designer Alex is also going to cause a stir.. I think it’s going to be good thing but I’m personally excited about him being on True Blood
