Here’s proof that the TV biz hasn’t completely closed up shop for the holidays: L Word and 24 alum Mia Kirshner has just inked a deal to join the cast of The Vampire Diairies on a recurring basis, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Kirshner will be playing the role of Isobel, the sweet-yet-dangerous wife of Matt Davis’ history teacher, Alaric.
The actress will make her debut in the Jan. 21 episode, which, come to think of it, has already been shot. How will VD boss Kevin Williamson pull that one off? “Ever hear of an 11th hour reshoot,” sniffs an insider. “That’s what they’re doing.” There’s no reason to be nasty about it.

No kidding. Jenny was such a slimy character, but I think Mia is a great actress. I can’t deny that I got a little giddy knowing that someone from the L Word would be on a show that I currently watch.
Are you guys talking about Jenna? If not, who was Jenny? I do find Jenna’s character incredibly annoying.
I agree totally – Mia Kirshner is a great actress – it was because she did such a good job that Jenny was so horrible (ugh Jenny). I’ve read that Mia Kirshner didn’t like what happend with Jenny in the last season of the L Word and I try not to hold her responsible for the worst last season of any good show ever.

Oh pleeease…spare us this nonsense, kidlettes. Mia Kirshner is a great actress and quite gorgeous besides. As for simsian, you must be high – no one’s ever said anything that positive things about how great MK is to work with. I’d take anything said by drama queen Karina Lombard with a huge grain of salt, since she has earned a rep for being a b*@ch on virtually every set she’s ever worked on.

This is awesome news! I absolutely love both Mia Kirshner and The Vampire Diaries so this news makes me very, very, very happy. I thought that she was amazing on The L Word, and I’ve missed not having her on my TV screen every week since The L Word ended.

TVD has done that before with Bianca Lawson and Jasmine Burke playing Emily the Handmaiden Witch.
and for people who didn’t live waynhere near big cities where these bands would play, it was even more important.in the early years of mtv, when they actually focused on music, they would show concerts. that was where i saw footage of bands like los lobos and the blasters before seeing them live.(actually i first saw the blasters on pbs!)
Its getting rid of her voice that is going to be hard not to be stereotyped as awful Jenny!
maybe you’ll be shocked,but i loved jenny.i understood her, she went through a lot for one person.she wasn’t the only person with flaws,all had of those.the only problem was that the writers wrote her off.wanted to make her a bad ass character,they needed one for the show not to be boring with all those love scenes. well,tx to mia it wasn’t. she was the best.and jennifer beals.they made the show!
Great news but the question remains : Is she coming back on 24 season 8 ? the producer had said she might be returning during the summer and we received no news since then

I totally agree with you! I love Mandy! Her appearances are always so cool. In the meantime, I’ll have to start watching The Vampire Diaries because I adore Mia Kirshner.
